Great run for me this morning and just managed to be quick enough to avoid the pack of dogs running around the quarry. Didn't really like being stopped by the police. They were in a van and stopped to ask if I had seen anyone suspicious whilst I was out. I explained where I had run and said - No... nothing and ran on. They wouldn't say why they asked either
NW - 1 heron, some geese, 2 cows.
Very cold out there. First frost of the year
Kate - Can you take a pic? I miss tacky Christmas lights!
Gobi - Why do you think that you were a mental mess after stopping the longer distances?
I stayed in bed this morning (well, only till 6) wanted to get out in between work and needing to cook, but got home really late and have too much to do. Ah well, today was a rest day then and tomorrow is another day
E mmy - life without 100 mile weeks and 4 hour runs was hard to take at first as it was what I had dedicated myself to. I had targets/desires/dreams and they all disappeared in a medical room with a picture and a sentence
Evening all - 7 miles and 3 x 6/5/400 in the rain, very bracing. Gobi, 91 miles in this shitty weather, respect/crazy. Emmy, I never take my phone out running but if I can take a pic without the owner thinking I love his house and putting up more lights even earlier next year I am on it.
Morning all - just 4.5 miles as a mini taper for Saturday's marathon, swim tonight. NW 1 cat 1 dog and 1 OR. Emmy, I think you took PW a bit far yesterday, try not to look so suspicious this morning.
2.4k in the pool last night and cycling today (and possibly indoor rowing).
Kate, did you get your injured achilles sorted out? Mine's still playing up but have a new regime from the physio..strengthening the calf rather than stretching, which seems to be the new thinking and, from what I've read, gets good results. Of course I'm told I should try to avoid running up hills but that's easier said than done around here!
35k done, last 5k at race pace. http://www.strava.com/activities/223336993 Back in time to walk my kids to school Got some strange looks from all the dolled up mums - covered in mud, head buff, running tights and bright yellow adizero jacket
NW: 2 heron, 2 deer, 3 runners (what the.... never seen any runners on this course before), 4 cats, 1 fox, lots of cows.
@Chris, have you tried eccentric heel raises/dips? Worked wonders on my achilles when it balled up (brought on my sudden increase in speedwork too soon after changing from heelstrike to forefoot).
emmy: Yeah Mrs B sister is down and we also have her and all 4 of her kids birthdays in Dec and Jan. So we got them all yesterday ! And last Tuesday too.
Eugh - this morning's run was awful. Out at 5 as normal and planned on an hour but it became apparent very quickly that I was struggling. Heart rate through the roof for an easy run so took it easy and ran just 45mins instead. Boyska loved it as it was raining and he could run through the puddles!
