I've booked flights, but going to sign up when I get my renewed passport back since they needed my passport number on registration (had less than 6mths running on it).
Yes thanks training going well. My main race is Brighton in April and then London 2 weeks later so Jerusalem is a bit of a warm up (well just a place i fanced going to really)
Looks a very tough course with loads of hills, never knew that when I signed up.
Same here, just wanted to go there. That said, I've got the Faroe Islands (Torshavn) marathon after that, and that's just as hilly! Must remember to look at the elevation profiles before I sign up for the next one!
I don't really do steep. Running along the Thames, I can (theoretically. Never even ran a marathon) run an ultra before covering more than 10m vertically! A hill will be a bit of a shock to the system.
Nevertheless, the thought of slowly meandering up and down Jerusalem roads is rather appealing. Especially, as scouse says, considering the hummus at the end.
Seeing it is so close to the general elections out there, may be worth combining for those allowed.

A bit hilly is all I know.
Bit quiet on here!!!!
Hi Plazzy - booked up yet for the marathon?
Yup
There's a rapid response for you.
Wow - looks there is 2 of us doing it now!
Quite a short response as well.... - got your flak jacket ready!
Oh yes. My bum is pulling tongues a little bit, but I'm sure all will be grand.
Looking forward to looking round Jerusalem mind you. And the hummus. And the falafel etc...
Training going good?

Wow Faroe islands sounds good - Is it big enough for a marathon? sounds an interesting one though.
Ah yeah, no worries on that front.
Though it is an out and back. Two beasts of a hill mid way, advantage being two beasts of a downhill back....
Hmm never seem as easy going down as they do going up though scouse!
Jerusalem looks a bit nasty in places as well.
Just downloaded the course map on the garmin. Feel free to sweep up the broken pieces when you pass
Hmm looks scary
I'm sure there will be plenty of pieces to pick up all over the course!
The defenestration of predicted running times springs to mind.
At first, I thought I was looking at a hacksaw blade.
I was thinking of signing up for the half. Then I saw the elevation map, then I saw the flight costs...
Still thinking about it though.
Shame the Tel Aviv one isn't a month earlier.
I found flights were really cheap.
'The flights are cheap and the hills are steep'
Sounds like a cheap PR slogan...
cheap and steep the way i like to ski not run!

That hummus had better be damn good.
Not long to go - 1 week tomorrow. has everyone sorted their medical certificates.
strange times to pick unbers up, 3-10pm (dont they work mornings)
All good, med cert registered, bit gripped about it all, but looking forward to it.
Don't know how to play it, with it being hilly...
yeah, hope its not quite as bad as some people are making out on line. Its just a training long run for me and its mainly about preservation.
Only just realised the marathon is on a friday and jewish weekend is friday-saturday - Duh.
early start at 7am friday but looks like the weather is cooling down on thursday.
