Cold water champs was great. Came third in my heat out of eight but not enough to make it to the finals. Water temp was 3.5c but was in and out in just over 20" so didn't have time to notice the cold! Very well organised event and will be back in two yrs for the next one!
I think just getting in would send me into shock. Well done for coming third, though, even if you didn't qualify.
I was supposed to be doing my second of the year's 10Ks today but I started getting sick last evening and now I have a killer sore throat. I suppose I could go and amble around but since the whole point was to push myself and get a fast time (for me, that is) I'm going to sack it.
well done Chris - saw photos on the guardian website and it looked like fun! Not that I would like to get into water that cold!
Cal - hope you feel better soon, no point in racing if you are ill
I woke up with a headache and feeling a bit snowed down with everything I need to do and not enough time to do it. That includes trying to get a long run in, but I will do school work first then it won't be hanging over me.
Morning all - 16 hilly miles done, 10 OR, 2 dogs DW a fox which had been around so long there wasn't much of it left. Shame you're feeling rotten still Cal. Well done Chris, did you lounge around in one of the hot tubs afterwards?
LOL... now I was going to remain discrete about the bum in the air welcome, but now you mention it! You did a cracking time particularly considering that was a day 2 mara! 5:30 was looking good (and upright for a change)!
Morning all - I've got the lurgy so at home feeling slightly sorry for myself!
PSC - hope you feel better soon! Yeah... I was hanging onto Natty for dear life in that last lap so just tried to give everything that I could... turns out that was it!
Morning all, morning birky - turbo for me, track last night was 300m/600m sets so not as long as Chris'. Swim and run later. New kitchen worktops today, hob and tap on Friday and nearly in business, but came home last night to a digger in the garden and half the driveway missing, loving the house improvements. Have a good day all.

Yes, did lots of lounging around!
I saw lots of pics of my friends wearing silly hats too, I hope you wore a nice bonnet.
2 hours on the MTB done today, great fun
I have a nice bonnet
I was also out MTB-ing today. Seemed like a good day for it.
Haven't got a bonnet. Guess I could have entered the heads up breast stroke and worn my gorilla suit. Maybe next time!
Morning - 6 miles 2 OR, warmer and drizzly. Here goes with another week.
Morning all,
Was lovely to see PSC and 5.30 this weekend! Unsurprisingly PSC did not see me at my best as I was on my hands and knees after finishing day 2!
A blustery day on Saturday and a much nicer day yesterday but the wind did start to pick up a bit.
A recovery run this morning and although it started to rain - wasn't too bad.
NW: 1 dog, 1 bird

The Road is Long...
The track was long tonight. 1600s and 800s with Farnham Tri Club.
Dont see much really except cars
Just some core stuff for me after spin and swim last night, track tonight, let's see if it's as long as Chris'.
no frost in Kent, which was lucky as it wasn't too cold waiting for the doctors surgery to open!
As I don't do sick very well I am feeling grumpy and have cabin fever already.
Have fun folks and avoid anyone with bugs.
Very icy here this morning Made it a little dangerous to run but lovely out there!
Get well soon PSC.
I'm going for steak
PSC - get better quickly
warm here this morning, a slow 4 miles done, and a turbo this evening
Morning you lot
Off out now
Back later

Morning all
just over 2k in the pool last night but got cramp in both feet. good session though.
nothing planned for today but might go out for a run later.
Morning all,
A lovely SOC this morning and no animals about which was quite strange (and a disappointment for boyska!).
Chris - is it common to get feet cramp in the pool?
I get it all the time, need more work on ankle flexibility, probably a bit less running and cycling would help too but this won't happen.
