I think we need some aero pirate kit. I was racing a duathlon at the weekend and Mrs Cougie was supporting and teamed up with a guy supporting his wife.
I wasn't in Pirate kit cos I was trying desperately to save Watts and neither was the racing wife.
Turns out that she's a pirate too and we didn't suss until I heard her name.
Said Aaaaarrrrgh to a lady pirate this morning near Bescar on my way out of Southport. I was not wearing ant black 'n' yellar - too cold, but got a hello back.

Stands a good chance that would be X-ray girl, she hasn't posted on here in ages but pleased she is still wearing the yellow and black
Crooky,, If they were wearing Pirate cycle jackets and had a 4 yr old girl in tow, that would have been Horse me and Ava You should have come over and had a natter.
Hurrah, I saw 3 pirates yesterday while doing the Wiggle Sportive in Newmarket:
One was Flyaway; probably doesn't count!
One was either going the wrong way or was out for a training ride. He was cycling through the village of Hanham. I shouted GO PIRATES! with my usual low volume effort but he must have had something in his ears, so no response.
The last one was on the same route as me, came blasting past and greeted me from behind, he got an arrgh and a short conversation but I am so forgetful at speed I don't recall his forum (or real) name. oops.
Etiquettee seems to be that the "Spotee" doesn't usually reply here, however as my gender is being called into question I can confirm that it was me at Ironbridge and that once my tackle had dropped after the race I can confirm I am still a bloke!
Major Disaster 'twas me in Henham (I actually live there) just heading out for a training ride not lost. I waved but with hindsight pretty stupid as you were behind me by then
Major - hi - "unknown pirate" here. Good to meet you yesterday, albeit briefly.
I didn't see any other pirates. Flyaway clear to quick to be caught.
The course had more cumulative ascent than I'd expected & was a tad windy. Felt good at the finish and not too bad today either but I had a few moments along the way. Not too disappointed with 5:21 for a solo century.
Pleased to read (on other thread) of your excellent approach to recovery. Mine wasn't too different, assuming there is a decent amount of carbohydrate in a curry and a couple of bottles of red? Maybe not then.
Two pirates spotted yesterday in their local environment, still can't believe I bumped into them, SA and Mrs SA whilst I headed over towards Peak District for my ride, joined up and had a good chat before going our separate ways. See you in a few weeks

Got spotted as I was nearly home, feeling absolutely banjacked after 50+ miles on the bike battling wind and hills.
That will have been Digger Digger yelling the abuse then....
Not this time my friend.....
Someone else abusing you blisters!!
Everyone abuses me.
'tis usually warranted.

I wish someone would abuse me while I was out cycling...
Apart from car drivers of course!
... I know people Major ..
4 pirates at the Santini Cotswold Spring Classic last Monday... We weren't in kit though
Oh Wabby, if we count seeing ourselves, I'm going to start abusing that pirate I see in all the shop windows...
But the pirate I see in shop windows is so much fatter than me!
SA- You shouldn't be cycling past the comedy circus mirror shops near you!
Spotted a Pirate at the Kymin Dash, Monmouth.
Didn't get chance to say Hi as I was busy with the timing gear and registration.
that will be my friend loon...
I did a quick Arrggh as his back was disappearing
I'm sure I saw the back of a pirate at Ironbridge Half today. Didn't even see if it was male or female!
Runner, swimmer, cyclist and triathlete
Devoid of a competitive streak
Who cares, I'm in it for the medal!
Oh won't be my friend then as she is female

See you again in Austria, if not before.
