Hi, some advice please, did my first ultra 10 days ago and still have very sore knees Is this normal? In truth didn't do enough training and the terrain was very rough but it was only 50k. Have I done some damage or will it just wear off? With thanks

Everyone is different...if both knees are sore then I would think it is just a case of recovery taking a while....if it was just one and it was swollening and tender it might be an injury...
Recovery does depend on how hard you push yourself and how well you trained as well as how long you have been doing ultras...

Was there a lot of downhill? If your quads are tight (e.g. due to descents) post-race/run that can make your knees hurt, in which case massaging your quads to loosen them up will help your knees a lot.
