A running friend of mine supinates when running which causes excessive wear to the outside of his running shoes - shoes only last a couple of months before showing wear.
Does any one know of a shoe which is hard wearing enough to last a decent amount of time, or any other advice on the subject gratefully received

Suppination normally equates to high arches. Wet the feet and check the footprints left on the floor, little or no instep showing will indicate high arched feet. I suppintation and found high arch insoles in a neutral shoe works well as I had this problem a year after starting out. Just replace the manufacturer's insole with the high arch support.
I run in asics cumulus/nimbus with no further trouble since.
