Hi,
I ran Paddock Wood Half Marathon on the weekend but ended up being ill in the days prior and ran nowhere near what I was aiming for, so I am looking for a half marathon in about a months time to hopefully run a good PB!
Can anyone recommend which out of Hackney Half or Milton Keynes Half are best for getting a PB? Or a different May half marathon?
Thanks!

I can't comment on Hackney, and while I've not run that particular MK half, I live there and know the route pretty well. It's pretty flat and fast although a few 180s in the first few miles that could slow you down. Other thing to consider with MK is that it is run at the same time as the full Marathon up until the split at around 7.5 miles, I guess that could be viewed as an advantage or a disadvantage!
I can thoroughly recommend the Ranelagh Richmond Half Marathon on Sunday 1st May. (OK, maybe I'm biased, I won it in 2012!) It's very flat and well organised, and I'm back for it this year. I've not done MK or Hackney so can't compare. All I know of Hackney is that while it's fairly flat it's also twisty. Richmond's much better value for money as well, being a club-organised event.
It uses both sides of the river, so there are ample opportunities to clear the rancid air from your lungs on the way round.
