Hi folks
I have a Garmin 235 and the silicon band is really irritating my skin. I am thinking of buying a leather strap to deal with this issue (Garmin don't make one although they do for the Fenix which is too big) and also because I want to wear it in daily use for activity tracking as well as for running.
Anyone had any good/bad experiences using leather? Any tips for making it work?
Thanks
Gavino

Hmm I know what you mean, but I am fine with (dry) leather.
I have seen suggestions that the strap should be thoroughly dried after a run, ideally in direct sunlight (..?) but am also wondering if I should give it a quick rinse and then towel dry first.
Also thinking that there might be something the leather could be treated with?
Any more thoughts anyone?
My old Garmin used to irritate my wrist so used to wear a piece of tubigrip under the strap and I had no problems.
Leather eh!
Revealed one's, ahem, secret.
🙂
I might run a bit faster if someone was chasing me with a leather strap... or maybe I'd let them catch me... hmmm
LOL thanks for a good laugh!!! Back to the ultra serious matter at hand, a colleague has suggested using Nikwax - no really...
Lol .....I love how this has had 100 views almost, I wasn't sure what to expect from the first line
Do you just have it to tight?
Presumably if you do a sweatband style thing you'd need to cut out a hole for the HRM
Error!
Gavino - I didn't realise your Garmin has the HRM sensor in the watch.
But having just used Kinesio tape for the first time on a calf injury I wonder if you could cover the parts of the strap that bother you with Kinesio tape? Would probably need replacing now and then but the adhesive is good and waterproof (lasts a week on skin, through sweat and showers/baths) and easy to cut out the part you need for the sensor.
