Thursday 8th September 2016

Morning.

Today's dose of lyrics:
''400 miles,
Without a word until you smile'.

AH: Noted, will have a go at the suggested route one day.  Hope the course designing went well.

What: Certainly not 400 miles.  Plan is 7 miles with 6 x 100 metre strides.
Why: Thursday.
Current Streak: Day 265.

Have a good day. image

  • Morning!

Lyrics were ready to go but ended up listening to the midnight news! And obviously would have been better than yours OL: at least I knew mine!

What: another easy day. Probably 30 to 40 mins

    Why: easy week

Current streak: today will be day 768

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - All I Can Do by The Carpenters. Nice not to have to think of some for today.

    What:              easy miles
Why:               coffee and cake day/half on Sunday
Last hard:        not worrying about things I can't change
    Last rest:         13/6

    Lyrics - I do.

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Morning

    What: 6 miles

    Why: Tapering

    Last hard: Tapering

Lyrics: Yes and I knew yesterdays as wellimage

    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

A friend just completed channel  4 person relay swim at 2am this morning

  • I had one of those amazing 'I wish I could bottle this' runs this morning. I guess if they were all like that I wouldn't appreciate them but it would be nice!

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Afternoon

    What: 11.6 miles

Why: Last long run before event in 2 weeks time.

    Last Hard: Tuesday

Last Rest: Last week at some point.

  • Hello Ryan - welcome. Which event?

Is 4 miles the new 3 Rocky?

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Day started wet 'n' murky, but has gradually brightened up.  Naturally, I would pick the time to run when the rain is coming down...  Oh well.

AH: Sorry to pip you to the post, hope your easy run went well.  I must refute your claim that your lyrics would have been better than mine on account of the fact that I know my song, as do two others.
LMH: Hope coffee 'n' cake day went well, sounds like the run went amazingly; any particular target for this upcoming half?
WP: Good going on the 6 miles, not too long left of taper is there?
Dustin: Sounds like a good day of coaching planned.  Good going on the muggy 6 yesterday.
OH: Enjoy the group run tonight, well done to your friend on the channel relay as well.
AF: Good going on the 4 miles, hope the running is going well.
Ryan: Hey, sounds like a decent bit of distance today, which race are you doing?  All the best with the taper before the event.

    Have a good day. image
  • 7.6 wet miles (not swimming!)

  • Evening!

    Welcome, Ryan!

    What: 6.1k this evening

Why: did wonder that at several points. Think my run was the opposite of yours, LMH! Tired and tender legs, mainly from a couple of afternoons of work in daughter's garden. Easy day tomorrow...although that is what I have said all week!

Rest well, WP!! Nothing to be gained from anything but a couple of miles turning the legs over, at most. Better under trained  rather than over trained!

  • LMH & OP:

Running the Nottingham Half Marathon in a couple of weeks. Hopefully the first of 3 events before the years out.

  • Ryan: Good luck training for Robin Hood half, this is a daily thread, a different training thread is posted each day; quite a few welcomes/responses await you on today's thread. image
