SL -- huge congratulations! You're unbelievable. And in fact the best in the world
RB -- wow, that looks totally epic. You could knock off a BGR as a training run.
Happy birthday CD! And good grief, you'll be way up the UK marathon rankings as a V50. You will be that nemesis at Bedford another time...
PP (&RB!) -- my breathing certainly scales with effort, but its coupling to pace is mysteriously loose. How can I need to breathe harder at 9 m/M on ploddish legs than at 6 m/M off the VLM start? Doesn't make sense in terms of oxygen consumption, but my breathing can be surprisingly fast on battered legs, yet fresh and tapered I can be breathing gently through my nose at the start of a race. Can't explain it. The "Running on Air" book made a lot of it.
Wardi -- congrats to the Mrs! Sounds like an excellent race. And for me, sub-75 may be forever out of reach now; I only did it twice, and my HM performances have not tracked my marathon plateau. I did 75:51 this summer but a minute off that would feel like a lot.
Nothing much from me -- I'm deliberately having a couple of light weeks (about 40M this one). I did a couple of overdressed runs to take advantage of the mild conditions though, and to counteract the works Xmas lunch yesterday.
Wow! Well done SL. Hope recovery doesn't take too long - you won't know what to do with all the extra time you have available though I expect Mrs SL will have some ideas
What's the weather going to be like Ryan? Do you have some pre or post marathon R&R planned?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
Get in!! Can I just point out that sub-3 50km gets you well up the field in the World Championships race last month in Doha. (Top Brit 5th overall in 2:58.) And that's outdoors with stuff to look at! SL, you absolute machine!
I won't spoil it as it's his call as to any sort of report. But it was a great watch as it ended up so close.
Looked easy up to 45k then it suddenly came clear just how hard it was. Took some proper nails over the last few kms to bring it home with six seconds to spare. Amazing effort. 2.32 pace for 31 miles!!
Not much going on with me. Decided my ankle needed a rest due to (self diagnosed) posterior tibial tendonitis so had 3 days off then banged out 2 consecutive MP 7M & then a progressive TM tempo 5K yesterday. Legs felt heavy this morning at parkrun so I was pleasantly surprised to hit my second fastest ever & a personal course PB to boot. Obviously 3 pints of cider, 4 hrs dancing & 4hrs kip is perfect race prep after all
The yearly stats reviews seem to be missing a crucial ingredient: total ascent. According to Strava I have climbed 184,000 ft over my 2,500 miles to date.
LMH - Long range weather looks cold and sunny with a bit of wind which is fine by me Got no running plans afterwards so will go by feel. We're away for two weeks in Sri Lanka in January which is most exciting and will involve minimal running.
I've entered Manchester so training for that will start at the back end of Jan, all being well.

Missed CD's birthday somehow - belated congratulations.
Well done Mrs Wardi. Hope you have a quieter December this year Wardi.
Hope SL slept well and everything goes well this morning.
I'll pop updates on here as we go, as well as on Twitter & Periscope.
All good so far!
Early days, but currently making my marathon pb pace look shockingly easy. Goooo on SL!!
Almost halfway and he's looking strong. And on target.
Periscope feed needs good wifi, which is constantly interrupted by the school kids form next door who use the gym for PE !!
Hopefully this lot will bugger off soon; apologies if you're watching the stream and it's being disruptive. We're trying our best.
Thanks for the updates Dan - let Stuart know we're thinking of him and following his progress.

SL, huge congratulations on what is a truly amazing achievement. You are the best in the world, end of.
What incline was the treadmill set to for SL's 50km treadmill run?
Sub17, it was set to zero as per the "regulations" for the world record.

Wow. Just wow!
Truly epic stuff SL, surprised you didn't burn the treadie motor out! Enjoy the celebrity status and some R&R with beer to assist.
Kow tow ..
Milton Keynes Winter Half for me tomorrow. PB hopes.
SL: Congratulations - man vs machine. Man wins
