Yes, decided not to go in 2017 and really missed it, so will be back in 2018. I read somewhere that it will be second Sunday in June, does anyone know if that's confirmed ?
The new(ish) football stadium Matt. About a mile and a half further from PMB by my reckoning so I hope some saving can be made elsewhere. I think I know what to do to have a proper chance of a BR next year but could do without a longer course!
Thanks Matt, ever since I did 9:25 on my first in the heatwave year of 2013 I've thought I've had a decent shot but one thing or another hasn't gone right.
I'm getting no availability on search engines for the Hilton on those dates and they've already hiked the price up direct on their website... if I am looking at that does it mean I'm in?
Belaire suites is already showing as fully sold for 7th to 14th June 2018... Hoping that's a glitch in their website for bookings more than a year hence.
Think that might be it Debra as I tried some random dates that are more than a year ahead and they weren't available either. Caashford was telling me to stay at Belaire next year as he thought it a good place and it's also closer to the rumoured new finish so I might be deserting the City Lodge.
I liked the Belaire - big rooms, nice breakfasts, fridge and microwave in the rooms if you want to do your own thing, sea views from the higher floors, monkey views from the lower ones. Only downside is that I don't think the standard rooms have baths, mine certainly didn't. About the same price as City Lodge.
Thanks for the info about Belaire RR. Fridge and microwave would be good as I largely self cater and I'm not bothered about a bath - I didn't use the one in my City Lodge room because of the drought.
Great to see the new thread already, I haven't committed yet but it's a definitely possibility that I'll head back to try and prove to myself that this years dnf was a once off.
Sorry 2017 wasn't your year jk. Hope you have better luck if having a go at the Down run.
RR - my grand plan was that I would do Two Oceans rather than Comrades in 2016. That didn't quite happen as I did both. Two Oceans is good though and much easier than Comrades and Cape Town is brilliant.

They are normally good about letting the date be known in advance, so I'm working on the basis of what was announced.
Becca, where is the rumoured new finish line for the down?
I think you have a great shot at sub 9 with your consistent sub 10s to date, not sure my head is quite ready for setting the training clock to 0 again
Hi Karen, that means there's more than one of you doesn't it, how many? Have you run it before?
Becca, fear not; looks like I will have to come up with a less whacky idea, I don't think I would be able to complete in 5 hours underwater

Welcome aboard Karen
Dang! Thought I'd found it, but I think this will be outside the qualification window: Beer Lovers Marathon
JK- Oh no - what happened?
Bike-IT - good to see you here
RR - ohh - I need a Two Oceans Medal - I'll do 2O again if you come to Comrades or is that not a very persuasive argument???

Aha! This one is in the qualifying window: Wineglass Marathon
Karen - so you have stayed at the Belaire before? Have you run Comrades before? With Jock? Are you both green numbers?
