I ran the Sahara 100k a few years back where our kit was transported daily and we ate in a communal tent but slept in the desert. I want the challenge of multi day ultra running without the sleeping on a bit of bubble wrap and eating dehydrated rations side. I don’t find it “makes it more of a challenge”; if anything it detracts from the pleasure of running. Quite frankly if I’m paying £3,000 I want to have my warm jacket at night and a decent dinner!
