Monday 1st January 2018 - I stand still stepping on the shady streets

Morning.

Happy New Year. Hope 2018 is a good one for you and yours.

Lyrics - I stand still stepping on the shady streets

My main running goal is to continue to enjoy it. Obviously I'd love to break 2.55 for the marathon but I know that I can't keep getting older and faster.

Sounds like fun Dustin.

What:          easy miles
Why:           ill and crocked
Last hard:   sleeping
Last rest:    21/12

Yesterday's lyrics - You're My Drug - XTC.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Morning!

    Lyrics: no

    What: gentle parkrun

Why: a good way to start the new running year

If I can run 2018k I will be both surprised and running quite well I imagine.

Need to keep up a strengthening and stretching regime.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Happy new year

Don't really come on her much at all. But love you guys on this thread the only other thread I visit rarely is the over 60s.

But new year hope to get back to it. Didn't manage it last year. Less said about that.

    Will run later. Soon
  • Hi Pammie, Ale and LMH. Happy new year happy new goals.
New year for me will be get this procedure done and dusted and hope to get in, realistically, 1000-1500k all things being equal
Spectacular fireworks last night, seemed never ending and like the hotels were playing top trumps, on Gran Canaria. Lateish night so relaxed morning.
    What-Something gentle
    Why-Calves seizing up
Last hard-6k up and down a mountain road yesterday!
    Last rest-Last Thursday
    Lyrics-Nope
Health and happiness to all our readers.

  • Ah well, things can only get better - I hope. Felt so rough walking Grace that my what ended up being a token mile. Had it not been the 1st of January I wouldn't have dragged myself out for that.

Hope your calves feel better today SC.

Hi Pammie - hope to see you around a bit more.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Happy new year.....

good job I didn't make "not falling over" a new years resolution as it would have been broken already.... Yes Mr Bump Ground Testing Ltd is established for 2018, and I can confirm that the ground is still hard and still makes me bleed..... knee is just a scratch, palm of hand is a different matter. All cleaned and dressed (self done - plenty of practice)

    What - Parkrun (inc fall)and warm up (1k) / cool down (1K) 23rd in 22:45
Why - New year (no double today for obvious reasons)
    Last hard - the ground
    last rest - Friday

Take care and hope all your running and life plans come to fruition this year
  • Afternoon!

Great to see you Pammie! And stick around this time!!!

Sorry to hear that 2018 was not the best of starts for you LMH and RFJ!

Take it easy SC! The little bovines and the Greek warriors do not take too kindly to hills!

What: fairly gentle and progressive parkrun

Why: too many people! I finished in 259th, and there were nearly 300 behind. I set off near the back and struggled to run never mind pass people on what is quite a narrow course. First k was around 6 minutes! Finished in 26:01, and the woman I crossed the line with was officially 26:00, whilst my time in the results is 26:04, not that I'm worried! The last time I ran anywhere as congested was the first three miles of the Great North Run. Achilles creaked a bit from 3k but it is going to I guess!

  • Happy New Year

Great to see Pammie I hope you keep visiting:-)

SC: Take it easy especially on the hills

Ale: Hope Achilles is okay that sounds very congestive and I would hate it.

LMH: I am sorry to hear about your run today:-(

RFJ: Not another fall good job you can take it in your stride:-)

My aims and goals are to just be running every day any think else is a bonus maybe a few PB's this year and injury free would be fab;-)

    What 7 miles
    Why: Summer and all that
Last hard: running through hailstone and torrential rain
    Lyrics: Nope
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

why: I always run on new year's day
last hard: sleeping after having eaten too much
