Do and be done with me

It's going to be a shock to your system Dibs.

Glad to hear you're feeling better emzap - careful not to overdo it though.

What:              hopefully a LSR (if it's not too slippery)/gym
Why:               I'd like to get the miles in before snow stops play (if it does)/encouraging Mark
Last hard:       staying warm could be hard
Last rest:        24/1
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Morning! And another crisp, cold but beautiful one!

    What: gym plus a walk

Why: has to be done/too nice not too

    Lyrics: not today
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning Uk

What: 2.5 hour turbo (raining today)

    Why: Staffs 70.3

    Last rest: 8/02

    Last Hard: Achillies being sore!

Today was meant to be a brick session. But my achillies is till a little tender from ?yesterday?. Quite annoying as the pain isn't there constantly. Anyway, I told the coach who told me to back off the run today. So just a cycle.

LMH- I know... If not the weather and being surrounded by people again (we will be loving with Alex's Mum for at least a year) then the NHS will be the challenge. I have heard and read some pretty scary things. Not that the Australian surgical system is roses. I am trying to keep an open mind and be positive about the move.

    Happy training all!

  • Lyrics today- Not a clue
Lyrics yesterday- 'Castle on the hill' - Ed Sheeran (very UK song!)
  • Morning

Wabo: I am sure you will do better than me with your half marathon:-) I just know where my happy place is and that is 60 miles a week.

LMH I hope you had a good run and not slippery.

    What: 6 miles
    Why: Short and fast day
    Last hard: The cold
Lyrics: Maybe so a no, I take it back it just popped into my head;-)
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.
    Progression
  • Hope your achilles settles Dibs. Are you going to the QE? Living with the not quite MiL for that long could be a bit of a challenge.

Not slippery at all fortunately Poppy but a bitterly cold wind.

Hope you enjoy your walk Alehouse.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Winter wonderland here...
But at least the pesky wind has died down.

I'd love 60 miles to be my happy place poppy.  It used to be many years ago...

Amazing how you can swim in this cold,  OH.  I'd get an instant heart attack ;)
Our lake is frozen solid ...

What: 6 miles in the snow
    why: fancied a run
    Last hard: staying upright
    Last rest: 17/12
    Lyrics: no
  • Just a swim today
    Pacing myself with graduated return
    Last hard: yesterday's swim

    afternoon all

Terminator done and dusted, very hard underfoot and got slippery as the sun warmed the ground, 1300 ft + of ascent over the 12m inc 1 bog and 2 river crossings and the sting in the tail, up and round a white horse..... 2:02:00 so not fast, but hey did a long run too yesterday.

    Take care all
  • Excellent RFJ. Well done. AOH I don't know how you do it. Achilles brigade I hope we all calm down.

    afternoon all
    Exciting news Dibs!
RFJ - well done on the Terminator. Will you be back?
    what - 11 easy
    why - recovery miles
    last rest - 15/12
    last hard - yesterday: Nationals!
A bumper turnout (2,328) meant that the first mile was a bit stop start, not that many of us 'mid pack' were complaining. By Nationals/Parly Hill standards it was actually quite runnable: the pond side and the ditches were naturally shin deep sludge but on the higher ground through the trees and on the closing half mile of each lap, grass could be seen and there was actually a bit of traction. Consequently each lap was get through it for a mile, then try to run. Found myself picking up more places than I lost and saved enough for a long run to the finish. Not my best run, but love running the Nationals, love running Parliament Hill.
12kms (7.5 miles) 59.56 and 1,579th so about 2/3rds the way down. Happy enough.
  • Wow that sounds busy Dustin. Being pleased with your run is about as good as it gets in my book - we do this for fun after all.

You're sounding more positive SC which is nice to hear.

Sounds like a hard run RFJ.

    Outdoors or in OH?

I don't mind it when it's fresh chicksta it's when it's compacted and frozen and I was really hoping for one more big week this week before a bit of a cutback before my half but we are forecast snow from tomorrow so I'll just have to wait and see and do what I can. Gad you were able to get out.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • To the far end of the Inganess wreck and back, LMH.
