Proper report to follow but: I finished in a little under 26 hours. No blisters (I love Injinjis). Bit of muscle ache. Sleepy-tired but otherwise okay. :-)

Well done Dannir & Bike It on getting the qualifiers done. Great run Debra! I'm doing the South Coast (Eastbourne) EnduranceLife Ultra (34 miles) at the weekend. It's my first Ultra! I know it's off-road and mega hilly. Is anyone doing this/done it before? I don't think it's really dawned on me how tough this is going to be
Max, yes, did it a couple of years ago. It's tough. You go over the Seven Sisters in both directions twice and half way a third time. There's an even more insane slope down where I remember thinking that if I tripped and fell I wouldn't stop until I hit the sea. But I finished - and that was when I was nursing my developing pelvic stress fracture. I'd love to do it again when NOT injured, but although I've been offered a place I think doing that just a week after the 100 would not be sensible...
(Legs are actually feeling okay at the moment but there's always DOMS could hit by tomorrow)

Well done Max, just take it easy and as they say at Endurancelife; never give up. You have changed the font colour to "lime" with your update; the food-fest continues
Brilliant work Debra. For what its worth, i would say enjoy and bask in the glory of your fantastic achievement and don't even think about running for at least another week or so, maybe two. I'm sure your body will thank you in the long run 100 miles in one go is a HELL of a long way. Well done again.
Max - good luck at the weekend with your ultra. I did endurance life marathon last year and boy was it tough. Doing it again in a few weeks time
Debra - A massive well done on your run. I can't even comprehend running that long or far. You definitely deserve a rest. Don't rush back too soon
I'm nursing a knee niggle. Was on the inside but now on the outside as well. Have been ignoring it as I'm fine to run and walk, just a bit of pain when lifting my leg. But am now icing etc as it seems to be nagging a lot more
Thanks for the info Debra, I can't believe you would even be able to contemplate running an ultra a week after a 100 miler you must be one tough cookie! lowrez, lime looks good thanks for the good wishes, SS too. I'm going for the 'survival' approach. I was going to try out BikeIt's Comrades pacing, but it might be too tough to realistically attempt. I'll let you know how badly it goes next week
JAR - strangely I was stopped by a P.T. neighbour recently asking my advice on whether I'd ever had knee problems and what she could do!!! She'd been told to do lunges and squats etc but in her line of work wasn't short of those!!
Anyway, I have been amazingly sensible Careful strength training session yesterday, masses of icing and went for a speedy walk today instead of a run. Already feeling a bit better and will do the same Friday if it's still a problem. And I didn't know I could walk so fast for an hour and half!!
Wow everytime I log in here, see people are getting some great training & results in!
Have a marathon coming up this weekend myself & a friend of mine is hoping to get his Comrades qualifier there as well. Fingers crossed all goes ok for him.
Going to experiment with running to heart rate myself as not aiming for any particular time or anything.
Max - Good luck for the Eastbourne race. It sounds fun from Debra's description, if gruelling.
Snail - I hope that knee is better soon.
jk - good luck to your friend. I'm a big fan of running to heart rate over long distances, I hope it works out well for you.
I'm off to Paris this weekend to not run the Eco Trail. As previously mentioned I have an entry for this race but it's not my "A" race and too much of a risk at this time, coming back from injury. I'm aiming to get some decent mileage done while I'm out there instead.
Max, I forgot to say: get there in plenty of time or you'll have a 10-minute walk from where you park to the start - you have been warned! Also be warned that the final "10K" (the extra loop after you finish the marathon) is at least 7 miles... And the medal doesn't even indicate that you ran an ultra. And we got a technical T-shirt, but it's a standard EnduranceLife T-shirt with no indication of the event.
Debra - I remember the t shirt from my endurance life event last year. Very understated with just their name. Horrible colour for females so I swapped with the mens!! AND it was at least 1/4 mile walk uphill (10/15%) at the end to get back to the car. Cruel.

Okay, looks like I'll be in SA again for my 3rd Comrades. I'm hoping I might actually run it fit this year but I'm already behind on training
Anyway, I pottered around Tokyo to qualify after only 5 weeks of training so at least I know I can start. I'll be in pen H after my 4:42. Hope to improve on that as I get fitter in the coming weeks.
parkrun I'll almost certainly be doing North Beach again and I might even do the route tour as well but haven't decided yet.

All went ok for me apart from the balmy 1C temp & the blizzard that kicked off for the last eleven miles or so Long way from the conditions at Comrades I hope! Managed 3:24 with an average HR of 143, would have been a slightly lower average if we didn't have to spend so much time running into a biting wind from the east, still shivering just thinking about it! Only display I had on the watch was heart rate so it was a surprise when I saw the time on the clock at the finish, my guesstimate beforehand would have been 3:30->3:40. Will try the same thing at a 63.3k ultra in April to see how it goes.
My friend messed up big time & arrived at the wrong time so started in a 5k race that went off somewhere else so by the time he figured out what happened was so cheesed off that he went back to his hotel in a huff! Nobody's fault but his own of course.
Hope Paris is going well although I'm guessing weather is similar or even worse there?
I had had a good trip to Paris, thanks. 50 miles total over 3 days will have been better training than doing the race would have been. The weather was a bit grey and with light snow and rain, so a lot better than the UK.
