Hi All, just thought I'd add to the GFA comparisons. I'm in 45-49 female age category. Got in for 2019 with 3:40 which I got in 2017 VLM. Well done everyone for getting your places. Now the thought of training again :# :#
They've still made us sweat - they've reduced the qualification times significantly (for men, anyway). They also changed the age to that on the day the qualification race was run, not the day of the race. So they're still buggers and should be pied if the opportunity arises.
I only just missed a Champs spot (ran 2’45’20) as a V40 so made it by almost 20 mins, but still haven’t got an email yet! I did apply quite late (almost didn’t bother) so maybe they’ve just not got round to me yet. Hopefully it’s just that!
Well done LS21, very impressive. I'm sure you won't have any problems with entry with that time. You can get the beers in at the finish and I hope they won't be too warm when I get there!
Andyc, you are right about the change to using 5-year bands rather than 10 years, that's one thing (the only thing!) they've done which works in our favour.
rodeoflip, actually no. I changed my plan on the morning to not run at 6.45 pace and go with 7mm. my average hr was 4 bpm lower in 2018 and I much more enjoyed the whole thing.
I still haven't received an email My time was 2:55:35 so based on the comments above I would be expecting one. The contact number gives an email address to contact if you haven't received a GFA email yet. Fingers crossed.
Mine arrived late last night. Maybe check your Spam folder, cos the initial acceptance email (from the first part of registration) went in there for me. Hopefully it’s just a glitch - but if you’ve not received anything by lunchtime I’d maybe give them a call. Good luck!
Well done to you all, hopefully the new changes won’t have such a detrimental affect as first appeared! Now fingers crossed they haven’t messed about with the “inconvenience “ entries.
Hello people, I’m new to this site but would like to ask a question. I’ve entered the lottery for London Marathon next year but can anyone tell me why they insist that the lottery is random. If this was correct all they would need is name, email address and tick box to confirm over 18 years!
When I applied they requested, name, address, date of birth, gender, race, predicted finish time, number of previous marathons, occupation, trainers you wore, sports drinks you consumed and reason for applying, to me that seems like a lot of information required for a “random” selection

Paris then London next year for me
Well done everyone for getting your places. Now the thought of training again :# :#
Based on the comments above I think I should be ok (2:53 - M18-39) but would still like to know!
them a call. Good luck!
Well done all. See you in April.
