  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - To Live A Life - First Aid Kit.

Think of it as streamlining emzap  :) Hope the weather is kind (forecast is dire here) and you have a good day.

Did you get to run with Faith in the end OH or did he logistics prevent it? Hope it's calm for your escort duties.

I'd like 6.20 to be my HMP Alehouse but currently it's 6.24, hopefully after Sunday it will be closer to what you think I'm capable of.

    What:          short and easy
    Why:           racing tomorrow
    Last hard:   tapering
    Last rest:    19/8

    Lyrics - of course.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Morning!

Hope your weather is better than here, Emz: rain is bouncing!

    What: possible parkrun

Why: can't make up my mind because of the weather. Would be my long run for the week though.

    Lyrics: yes, and most appropriate.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • LMH: 6:20/6:24 is amazing!
    Dustin: 5:33 strike a light!
O/H: See looked pretty impressive on the pic of the wreck, hope it is better for you for escort duties. Good miles yesterday.
Emz: Oh heck with the hair. Hopefully the 8.5 will be good today.

My pace has gone to pot, might be because I listen to the radio when I run and it is calming and it doesn't gee me up, maybe just really tired not getting enough sleep. Hope running with someone today fettles that.

    What: 18.5
Why: Got to get miles in and oppurtunity to run with someone
    Lyrics: Oh yes!

Murky but rightening up here, let's see.

  • Morning again!

What: a rather damp parkrun (South Manchester)

Why: current long run. Ran sensibly with the last 2ks chatting with a guy that I know. Around 26:15.

Off to the opticians shortly to pick up a small fortune's worth of glasses.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Our forecast rain hasn't arrived yet Alehouse which was good for my run, unfortunately we have a lack of water due to a burst pipe so I can't get clean now!

Benjy - don't worry about pace. You are building the miles again, I always get slower when I start going further, it will come back and today is not the day to push your pace, the aim of your run today is to comfortably complete the miles - take it easy!

chicksta - do you know Bonn at all? Apparently BiL is off there soon. Looks as though Berlin could be a possibility for me next year (I'm getting my holiday requests in with Mark early:-)
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

have great weekend all, race well rest well train well!
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Good going there Ale!

LMH: You are right about pace, that was least of concern, was around 9:30 pace the second half, was 20 miles in total instead of 18. Was tough going though to be honest after 14. Should have eaten a hearty breakfast instead of Weetabix. We have planned a 22 for Friday.
  • Great long running, Benjy! Hydrate well!

Still raining here. Hope it is better for Emz.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Calm day and early haar cleared.
Slow pace for kayak but none too shoddy for swimmers (4k in 1h40)
     Lyrics - not a clue

Didn't get to run with Faith - she ended up having to take a break day on the day I was free.
  • Bit of a vent and no I am not looking for sympathy but do feel like I've just had a swift kick in the guts. Letter from doc saying nothing to worry about but we want a chat so come on down. I get there and he shows me a letter from my cardio to him last month outlining my conditions and noting that my aortic dilatation remains static- that my  SVT is under control post ablation although still getting episodes (controlled by valsalva manoeuvres) but that it may be reasonable to have an implanted permanent pacemaker and then some new news. During a CT scan last November (Done in preparation for the last ablation) a report stated I had 60-70% moderate proximal LAD disease and it may be worth discussing statins. Really . Last November and I find out now. I need to talk to my cardio and understand what condition number three means for me! My EP has put it in writing that arrhythmia and sinus node dysfunction sometimes responds to detraining in the veteran athlete. It was also noted I had been advised to reduce the intensity of training due to the pressure loads put on the aorta. Me and the Kubler Ross change curve are having a ball today and my Christmas card list just got shorter. Please no comments on the process or timings. Now for tomorrow's 10 miler :-) Positive anger/calm/and relax.
    What: parkrun 23.13
Why: Heeding advice :-) and holding back for tomorrow
Last Hard: Doctor's appointment and letter contents
    Last Rest: Last Sunday
    Lyrics: Yes
Bit of a selfish post guys but hope you don't mind too much
  • I don't mind at all SC. I'd be furious! Hope you have a good race tomorrow.

That sounds like a spot on long run Benjy, well done.

That's a good swim OH. Glad conditions were good for you.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • I'll not comment SC but you can imagine what I'm thinking...
    Benjy - good mileage
Emz - good luck, and good lyric choice too!

    What - 4 mile easy
    why - mini taper
    last rest - Monday
last hard - seeing renewal quote for eldest's car, trying to get insurance for learner younger daughter...

And I won't comment either SC...
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
