Tuesday, 25 September 2018 - Autumn leaves under frozen souls,

Morning :)

Chilly out there today, only degrees. It's gonna be ice scraping season soon... my kinda weather

Lyrics: Autumn leaves under frozen souls,
Hungry hands turning soft and old.

Let's see what the legs are up to.  The heart definitely says yes.

  • Morning Chick

Chilly here 4 degrees but we love this weather;-)

I am waiting for it to get light to try another run as dare not risk  it in the dark.It takes ages to get light!
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.
    Progression
  • Morning.

It takes a couple of days for my legs to feel better after my physio has given me a good going over Wabo.

I don't like the cold, wore capris yesterday  :( at least I have a couple of warm weeks to look forward to - though of course it will feel even colder when I get home.

    What:            probably short and easy
Why:             have done a few miles in the last two days
Last hard:     coordinating deliveries and finding somewhere to put it all
    Last rest:      19/8

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

Chilly here, also, but not as cold as yesterday; nor is there frost on the car.

    Lyrics:no

Yesterday's lyrics were, "Sit down", James.

Another awful night's sleep: seem to have an infection affecting my jaw, ear and back of my head, probably starting with my gums. Will be seeking medical advice shortly!

What: supposed to be 5k this evening

Why: Ron Hill's birthday race to celebrate his 80th.

    Don't rush things, WP!

    Back later.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning all
Ale - hope you get a swift remedy to the infection, and enjoy the 80th celebrations!
LMH - good luck stacking up the deliveries: a bit early to buy my Christmas presents but I admire your eagerness ;-)
And did I see signs of the lesser spotted 40, a rare breed around this parish? Hope the injury isn't serious enough to derail Athens.

What - easy running/coaching. I'm down to take the session tonight which gives me ample excuse not to go full beans. A mild case of DOMS after Sunday, although yesterday's 11km regular recovery was relatively comfortable.
    Why - on the rota
    last rest - 3 weeks
    last hard - Sunday
    lyric - not sure

Cold but beautiful and bright this morning

  • A much heavier frost here this morning Alehouse. So the toothache was just a precursor then? Hope you can get sorted quickly.

Xmas is one thing I'm not eager to see Dustin!
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Oh dear, AH!

What: Sitting on my @rse all day then Ron Hill Birthday 5k (if AH is still up for it)
    Why: mandatory update cpd
    Last rest yesterday
    Last hard: 10 days ago
    Lyrics no

    Nice morning in Manchester
  • I'll still be going, OH! Promised uni people lifts as well. Outside dentist at present.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • (sounds dental in origin AH)

    morning all
yes to chilly! Shorts and t still but boy I needed gloves
dustin I think my QoP pummeled any doms out of  me!! Hope your's ease up soon
alehouse, oh dear I feel your pain, enjoy the evening
LMH it was nice when the sun was on my legs, hear what you are saying though!
wp, you are chomping at the bit!!
chick I don't mind the cold but I do hate scraping ice off my car early morning
    what:3 miles am
    why: its nice
    last hard: that was
    last rest: 31/12/16

I cant believe the QoP said do your legs feel better now straight after
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Morning again!
Saw dentist who took x-rays etc and said, to my surprise, that the problem is not dental related. GP at 12.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Capris and a light jacket for me this morning but I loved it. Clear sky, full moon and twinkly stars. What's not to like :)

Just saw that somehow the temperature didn't show in my original post. I wrote 4 degrees. Guess it was censored :D

Ale: Hope the GP can sort your toothache out

Enjoy the Ron Hill birthday bash, Ale and OH.

Wabo: I usually limp out of my QoP's practice and it takes 24 hours to settle

WP: smart move not to run in the dark. I'm lucky as I have a stretch of well-it cycle path.

    What: 9 miles
    Why: Legs said yes
Last hard: the drop in temperature caused me a monumental headache for a few days. I hope it stays cool now.
    Last rest: 17/9

  • Afternoon!

Very thorough examination from GP. Suspects an infection but for now just paracetamol and ibuprofen. Going to try to sleep for a couple of hours which is unheard of in an afternoon!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    alehouse poor you
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Good grief Ale..hope that resolves soon. Wabo...you made me smile and not sure if I prefer DoMs or pummelling. Lot of condensation but no frost although felt like I was in an aircraft looking down from my hilltop to the clouds/mist over the town and clear as a bell in my garden. Enjoy the 5k OH and the easy runs, especially Poppy. Be careful all. Not my kinda weather Chicksta!
What: Club night and I hear stop watches are involved
    Why: It's Tuesday
Last Hard: Realisong my half mara miles won't log as not on Strava
    Last Rest: friday
    Lyrics: Uh Huh
  • Afternoon, again!

Things could be much worse, Wabo...and am feeling quite a bit better after sleep, or is it the tablets kicking in? May jog around the 5k; at worst I will warm up and decide against it, or drop out if feeling too rough.

    Beautiful day here!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Glad you're feeling a bit better Alehouse, hope you continue to improve.

Can you not enter it manually somehow SC?

The frost was heavy here this morning Wabo - and I resorted to capris and long sleeves.

How is your hamstring feeling now chicksta?

Enjoy the race and socialising OH.

One more delivery tomorrow all being well and we're done, still need to finish packing the kitchen but it's difficult when you're cooking and baking.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Great little outing this evening, but will leave OH to report! I ran steadily after going through 1k in around 6:23, finishing in about 26. Over 20 seconds to cross the start line.

Off for a couple of pints with OH. Hopefully will make me sleep better later.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Good to join up with AH and 2 young speedy students for Ron Hill's 80th birthday 5k. Thanks to AH for suggestion and travel logistics. Run up hill to reservoir with 2 laps of reservoir then back down.
24m51 for me this evening. Well pleased with that.
