Tuesday 2nd October 2018 Telling me just what a fool I've been

Morning!

Lyrics: Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain

Not a good night's sleep: woken by the falling rain.

What: short run plus long Pilates

Why: Tuesday, and work gets in the way anyway.

Must feed my cake! Usually do it on the first of the month.

Now these lyrics are nostalgia, Benjy, even for me!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Comments

  • Yesterday's lyrics Arther's Theme (Best That You Can Do) by Christopher Cross You knew it really Chicksta

Ale: Ha ha nostalgia, I don't know it but I'm getting a whiff of Mersey Beat going on? Too much cake action going on here, distances to be expanded to accommodate.

Welsh: Well we have an ailment we share there, hole in the heart twins.

Would like to do another 10+ today, feeling spritely, but I don't have the 1hr 15 pace of Don for a 10 miler (that was really great going Don, hats off to you there), quite a lot of work and stuff to get on with today, so will see what can be done.

What: A run after school dropoff, old railway line/North Bay, then Taekwondo tonight

Why: Set me up for the day

    Lyrics: Not a sausage

    Morning all,
For those curious yesterday, the only reason there was cake left over from Friday is probably because I wasn't in here on Friday...
What - Coaching / training 4x1 mile (grass)
Why - Rota, last effort before the local half (low key racing) this weekend
    last rest - 03/09
last hard - will be today
lyric - not sure I do
  • Stop writing about cake! Especially lemon drizzle. Sitting salivating at my desk :-(
Benjy, enjoy tkd. As parkrun PROVE ambassador for heart conditions may I point those with heart issues to a closed FB group, parkrun for people living with heart conditions. You guys could/would add value to that group. When's the next grading Benjy? Nice song and link Ale. Sadly old enough to remember it. Never tried pilates.
    What: Something at lunchtime
Why: Not going to club tonight.
Last Hard: Deciding what to eat last night
    Last Rest: Errmmmm
    Lyrics: Yep
  • Morning,

Dustin: Thanks for clearing up the Cake issue as you can tell we were worried;-)

Benjy: Good luck with run and Tkd today.

SC: Enjoy your run today sadly I do not do FB so would not be able to contribute.

    What: 5.59 miles
Why: I got up late and felt tired
Last hard :getting out of bed/foot
    Lyrics: Yes
What cake I am making: Lemon drizzle cake for hubby I am still on diet:-(

9 days running since boot of and today is first day the pace seemed the slower end of normal rather than my fastest walking pace
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

    Good morning

Reaslised I forgot to post Sunday and yesterday (had threads open on computer, then got distracted!).

Saturday's lyrics were Keeping Faith - Amy Wadge

Sunday did 10km of walking with friends
Yesterday went to club and did 2 miles at MP round the track.
    Today is rest day.

I think there are more of us on here with asthma than without tbh!
Lemon drizzle, now there's a good cake (also trying to eat better but not really working...!).  Seem to have put on weight despite 18 mile runs!  What's going on there?!

Wabo hope you feel better soon.  I've had a lingering cold for about 2 weeks now, never actually come out, but been feeling like I'm about to get a cold!

Trying to rest up now.  Benjy what time are you going for at York?

    Have a lovely day all.
  • Good morning Britain! Another scorcher forecast here.

Take a decongestant Wabo. I usually find a run good for a sinus headache.

What are you aiming for in the weekend half Dustin?

Why all this closed group stuff on FB from parkrun? Sounds a bit exclusive and cliquey.

What did you decide on in the end SC? Salad all the way here at the minute!

I’m not even thinking about weight given the food and lack of miles whilst here Emma’s, I’m trying to think of it as winter insulation.

I feed mine every two weeks Alehouse - am I overdoing it?

Nice and easy does it Poppy.

Hope you had enough time for whatever you needed to keep your head straight Benjy, must be nearly taper time?

You seem to be working quite a lot lately for a retired person OH.

What:               It will be something short and warm
Why:                I’m on holiday not a training camp
Last hard:        I don’t really like running this little
    Last rest:         29/9

    Lyrics - I feel I should.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Hi LMH...parkrun set up the PROVE project to make parkrun more accessible for people with long term disabilities and health conditions. The fb groups are sort of mutual support/sharing/for people whoe either have, or care for someone affected. No cliques involved, just safe places for people in parkrun to share challenges and celebrate progress without fear of judgemenet/discernment form those who may not understand. Groups include Alzheimers/Dementia/Diabetes/Dementia/Heart Conditions/Visual Impairment/Asthma/Learning difficulties and a few more.
Just finished meeting with supplier and about to go out for at least 8k but see how the breathing goes as the air is a bit chilly :-)
OH I love that phrase. Hope no hoolies down here for a while yet. Emz...I've not stopped thinking about Lemon Drizzle since Dustin first mentioned

If that ain't love, poppy

wabo: Racing is definitely not sensible if you're feeling this rough...  I'm with LMH though, an easy run will probably make you feel better.

Solid running at the moment, Benjy. And you're right. I should have gotten yesterday's lyrics.

    Enjoy the Florida sunshine, LMH.

What: 8k on the TM with 6 fast (for me - 25:51)
Why: defying age and trying to get quicker over 50
Last hard: the weather. Cold. Grey. Wet. Windy. This came all a bit sudden.
    Last rest: 17/9
    Lyrics: yes

    Evening all.

Like the sound of your holiday LMH.

Heading out to the running club later, just taking it easy though, will make about 50% effort.

    Lyrics, nope.

5 x 3 mins at 6:30 pace with 2 mins recovery.  Nice wee session.
  • Blimey Donald’s - you’re fast at 50%! 😊
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Haha, indeed!  3:15 pace at 100% 😂😂
