Monday 17th December 2018 Shall I tell you about my life

Morning!

Lyrics: Shal I tell you about my life

What: half an hour or so run, solo.

Why: Monday is usually the day I run with M73, but unfortunately he and his wife came off their tandem yesterday on black ice. A few stitches and a lot of bruising, so not available to run!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - Rose Tint My World from the Rocky Horror Show.

Glad your friend's haven't damaged themselves too much Alehouse. It was surprisingly slippery for my run yesterday. Hopefully we'll have better conditions this morning.

    What:           hoping for a LSR
    Why:            best opportunity this week
Last hard:    not being too bah humbug
    Last rest:     27/11

Lyrics - I think I do but can't name that tune.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • I'm sure you do know the lyrics LMH! Like yours they sprang to mind following Gobi's photo.
Just wondering if it will ever become light today! Won't run until it does.

    Morning all
Ale - sorry to hear about your M73 running friend
Gobi - you scrub up well...
    Chick - good racing
Emz - Hope the Kent trip went well. We went over on Saturday. Sat on the M26 for 45 minutes...
    What - easy lunchtime
Why - recovery. Saturday was 7.5miles in torrential rain, yesterday was 13.5 boggy trail miles
    Last rest - Thursday
Last hard - yesterday I guess
  • It does seem to be taking an age to get light of a morning Alehouse. I'm just back from walking Grace and I'm going to delay my run, very slippery out there at the moment, far worse than yesterday. I'm hoping if I give it an hour or so it may improve.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Oh how embarrassing  - I did indeed know the Lyrics.

    I believe I know todays

What: hour on the rollers d&d run later and gym
    Why: fat avoidance
    Last hard  Saturday
    Last rest: 31st October
    Lyrics: yes

My big toe hurts from the shoes but beyond that all is good ,:-)

  • Morning again!

What: 6.61k, fairly gentle...not that it felt it. And calf niggled.

Why: get it done! Turned out to be a crisp, bright morning. Largely off road on cinders so only a few slippery bits.

Photo doesn't quite do it justice but took it to see if OH (or OL if he is about) can identify exactly where I ran!

    Swim done, 5k run later
    Cards done
Wind now dropped to nothing and not a bad day all told.
    Last hard getting cards written!
    Last rest yesterday
    Lyrics - don't think so
  • Looks nice Alehouse. It was still very slippery in places when I went out just before 1000hrs but I managed to get a LSR done. Forecast warmer but wet and windy tomorrow.

Just looking at that is making me feel cold OH!

Not easy at this time of year Gobi.

How did your xc go Wabo?

    Come in the water's lovely!

Just off to Lancashire members' Christmas do. Hardly cricket weather.

  • You're not selling this cold water swim business to me ;)

LMH: I couldn't ever run in vest and shorts if it's this cold. Kudos to the hard core lot who do it. But they're usually the ones at the sharp end, like yourself. Us middle to back of the packers can afford a few layers to stay comfy.

Snow has arrived here in the meantime but I think it's melting already which is just as well.

Hope your friends are OK, ale.

    What: 5 mile recovery run
Why: I put in a bit of effort yesterday
Last hard: the last 5k yesterday hurt a bit
    Last rest: 9/11
    Lyrics: I think so

Ale hope your friends are ok, as good as can be expected.

I always train well in December, it at least slightly minimises the food indulgence and as I drop weight in Jan I am fit :-)
  • Now dressed for an evening out!  ;)
