Comments

  • Morning!

    Lyrics: no

What: may resort to treadmill, plus fitness suite

Why: work, pavements icy. Will do some running, for sure!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning.

Indoors on the bike I'm guessing Gobi?

Frosty and foggy here - my chances of a run outside aren't looking good and time to make it to the gym before work is limited but I hope to fit something in somewhere.

It will come back chicksta - I'm slow in the cold.

Sensible not to risk the speed work Hazel.

Did you have much snow OH?

    How are your niggles Alehouse?

    What:          easy miles somehow/where
Why:           I've already had two rest days in January
    Last hard:   staying upright yesterday
    Last rest:    27/1

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning All
Wabo - what has been said already, pace is relative, "fast" is different for all of us!
LmH - flurries, but more mush. It didn't settle.

What - U11s coaching if it's still on
    Why - Easy Thursday
    last rest - Last Monday
    last hard - Tuesday
    lyric - dont think so
  • Morning..

    Good monthly mileage Gobi.

Maybe there are still some bugs lingering Chicksta.

    What: good question
Why: more of the white fluffy stuff (several cm)  Depending on where the snow plough has been to by the time I go out I will do some 600 or 800m intervalls or some hill efforts or simply a snow plod.
    Last rest: Sunday
Last hard: working out what to do today

    Lyric:  no
  • My sleeping bag jacket is getting a lot of use this year, I'm not sure if it's colder or I'm just more of a wuss. Grace's whiskers and the fine hairs inside her ears were icing up by the time we finished her walk but it didn't seem any more slippery than yesterday so I set off for my run. Cold (feels like -7C according to the Met Office) and freezing fog but no wind fortunately. I was as slow as a slow thing but I'm blaming the temperature - I came home with frozen eye lashes and a layer of ice on my jacket! Two miles up the river there was a light dusting of snow but none here as yet.

Will you run if the U11s aren't training Dustin?

Hope you can find a suitable running surface Hazel but if not some easy miles may be the way to go.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Evening

Well we could be in Chicago!

Yesterday's lyrics: I've got a feeling black eyed peas

What: going for a short walk after dinner
Why: don't want to go out alone for fear slipping
    Last hard: last few weeks

Don't even want to think about Jan miles...
  • Pammie*Pammie* ✭✭✭
LmH Hard to explain but a lot of life related things I find night shifts hard now. I struggle to sleep and recover between shifts. Not a lot I can do about that. But now I'm in my own place hoping its a step forward
  • (Snow and ice still here LMH)

Snow ice mud and water - fun was had :-)
  • Evening!

Would have been a struggle to run here with pavements like glass in places. Lots of stories from yesterday's travel: colleague took 4 hours to drive 13 miles; daughter was over an hour driving just over a mile; someone else was over three hours for 7 miles. And the airport was closed for most of the day. Unusual for Manchester. I see that the south-west and South Wales are struggling this evening.

    Anyway...

What: 5 miles in 27 minutes, including warm up and warm down

Why: couldn't run outside. Don't tell anyone that the above was on the anti -gravitational treadmill at 90% body weight. Did work quite hard though and cut the 30 minute slot short so as not to overdo things.

re niggles, LMH, the Achilles struggled towards the end of today's session and the knee has niggled all day. The knee didn't niggle on the treadmill though. Post run the knee has niggled and the Achilles hasn't! Back ached yesterday but didn't today! So who knows!

January: 167.07. Shame it is kilometres. About 103 miles though and the highest since may 2017.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
