Saturday 2nd February 2019 What goes up

Morning!

Lyrics: What goes up must come down

What: good question. Something for sure.

Why: parkruns are off which means my longish run in company is off.

Will try to get more sleep!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning.

    Flexibility is good Hazel.

Oh dear OH, hope you can get it sorted soon and that your weekend travel plans aren't disrupted by the weather.

Hope you can find somewhere to run Alehouse.

That's a lot of snow RFJ. Frustrating about the appointment, hope you don't have to wait too long for a rescheduled one.

It was very, very slippery when we walked MiL home after dinner last night so I don't know what today holds but I have the shopping to do and Grace to walk before I can run so I'm hoping it will be ok by then.

    What:            easy miles
    Why:             preserving sanity
    Last hard:     FiL yesterday
    Last rest:      27/1

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Is everyone out running? Very quiet in here today!

Well it was very slippery out, the worst it has been, but apart from one 'hand-on-floor-heart-in-mouth' moment I made it safely round my run albeit slowly. Lovely morning to be out. Off to the gym this afternoon.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Busy morning and afternoon but

What: 9 miles with efforts and confusing the parkrunners again :-)
Why: dreaming if the big time still
    Last hard: today
    Last rest : October 31st
    Lyrics: no

    Afternoon all,

Just thought I'd pop my head in and say hello for the first time in a few years. Good to see some familiar names posting and being mentioned.

    What: Nothing
    Why: Story of my life
    Last hard: Football Thurs.
    Last rest: ongoing ;-)

Take care all you runners in the icy conditions!

    Hi Alex :)

Glad you managed a good run, LMH.

Oh no, RFJ. Will that be another long wait for a new appointment?

Don't blame you for opting out, Hazel.

No parkrun today. It's my mum's birthday so I had to help her getting stuff ready. Mostly cleaning and food. Managed a longish run ( for me) earlier. Still frustratingly slow. Not feeling too great at the mo. It must be post viral fatigue.

    What: 13 miles
Why: trying to build back to where I was before I got ill
Last hard: accepting my slow pace
    Last rest: 23/1
    Lyrics: I think so

Yesterday's were Everything counts - Depeche Mode

    Hi Alex

Chick / Ale et al, yes will likely have to wait again.... so frustrating

Ale, no , 2 full days and 1 half day to go

5 snowy miles, first half with Mrs RFJ, why, all local parkruns cancelled.

    Take care
  • Afternoon!

Good to see you Alex! Stick around!

    What: short, hilly, icy run

Why: everything counts (and should have got yesterday's lyrics). And I imagine that everyone does actually know today's.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • That's why I chose them, ale. Even though my runs are shit at the moment I'm sure they're good for something :)

    Afternoon

    What: I walked 5.5km!!!!!
Why: needed to get out and shopping needed doing
Last hard: that. I slept for 1.5 hours after. Foot aches but doesn't hurt.
    Lyrics: nope

Sounds like some tough conditions out there. Cold here but sunny. Had to careful of ice in places.

Hope your travelling went ok oh.
Hi Alex. Good to see you! How is everything?
Rfj that is so frustrating sorry to hear.
    Pammie great work!

Have a lovely evening all. Let's hope the rugby goes better than the cricket...
  • Good news, Emz! Hope all is ok in the morning! I'm sure the cricket will be fine! Rugby will be close I suspect. Will be channel-hopping!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • 5 mile walk along Fife Coastal Path
    On route to Edinburgh
    Last rest Thursday
Last hard: crowded trains. Tartan Army heading to Edinburgh.
Lyrics no (Google has at least 3 possibilities)
  • Nice pics, OH! An additional line of lyrics just for you: Ride a painted pony...

And come on England, times two.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • My first mile today was the slowest I can remember running in a very long time chicksta but they're all miles in the bank and I'm sure ti will come good at some point if I keep going. Have you checked your RHR? If it is post viral fatigue you need to be careful.

Hi Alex - why no running?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Hope you got in the off roader with your OH yesterday Wabo.
Well done for doing the bit further Pammie.
Oh no RFJ, I hope you can get a new appointment soon.
Glad you didn't hurt yourself falling over LMH.
Hallo Alex don't think we have met before.
Chicksta can't believe I didn't know yesterday's lyrics.  Will have to listen to some DM later.  Hope your mum has a lovely birthday.
Good walking emzap, sounds like progress.
That looks fantastic OH. Not at all jealous.

What: 11 and a bit soggy miles with pace varying wildly depending on the ups, downs and the slushy snow
    Why: this week's long run
Last hard: not getting frustrated about not being able to run smoothly.
    Last rest: yesterday

Edit: sorry about the line spacing, tablet doesn't want to cooperate and I'm too lazy to turn on the laptop.

Hi Hazel, used to be a regular on here a few years back. Nice to meet you!

Hey to all the old school - Ale/Pammie/Emz/Chick/RFJ/OH. Good to see Gobi back too and still being epic.

LMH - how are you? I've just been a lazy bum the past few years. Been doing Taekwon-do with the little one the past 2 years. So at least that's been 2-3 times per week. But, I still love my food too much and am too out of the cardio habit. Thinking of entering a HM to focus the mind and body. Just trying to fight the ongoing weight and health battle.  :D
