Zone training and HR

Hi all, a question for people who zone train. I’m 56 with a resting HR of 50bpm. During a sprint circuit I can regularly see a HR of 180+. Do I take my max HR to calculate my zones or 220- my age. Is my true max hart rate being much higher than my perceived HR a good thing or bad thing.
Thanks

There's no need to worry about your HRmax being higher than the 220-age calculation as it's just a rough approximation to an average. Use your highest recorded HRmax to derive your training zones. In fact, if you do a maximal HR stress test (click), it's probably a few beats higher than you think.

49 this year and saw 187, use the true data and consider Karvonnen formula for creating zones as this also includes your Resting Heart Rate
