Best watch with pace alert

Ant LewisAnt Lewis ✭✭
Hi folks, I’m after a running/smart watch that will warn me when I’m running below/above my target pace. I understand the Apple Watch has this, but I don’t want to pay £300-400 for a watch. Equally I’ve read the Garmin Forerunner has this but I’ve read poor reviews of this feature I’d these devices. Any alternative suggestions? Thanks for any help!

  • I’ve got the Forerunner 235 which has this feature. I used it on my faster paced runs for a marathon last year, it worked pretty well. The only drawback is the vibration alerts are the same for everything (if I remember rightly) so you have to look at the device to see if it’s too fast or slow etc. But it’s a good feature and a great running watch.

I've not checked, but there's probably an App on Connect IQ for the 235 having the functionality to provide different vibration alerts for being faster, or slower, than target pace at the end of a split.

    An alternate solution:

    https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/6a30651b-ca67-41a5-96dc-60634983fc93#0

Too many data fields on the screen at once for me though. I'd probably have a seizure trying to interpret it all.
