Sunday 28th April 2019 - Well, we bursted out of class

Morning.

Lyrics - Well, we bursted out of class

Forecast for today has improved- less wind but still chilly for me.

Hope the injured Orkney runner is ok OH and that you have a good race.

An easy day before tomorrow’s meet sounds sensible Dustin - do you know which events you’ll be doing?

Cheers Daisy - how is the tour going?

Pain about your builders emzap but good that you’ve nearly sorted what you want.

What:            A run round the streets of Lodon
Why:             I’ve eaten all the pies! And it’s nice to run in company for a change
Last hard:     Having a clue how today will go
Last rest:      27/1

Yesterday’s lyrics - Stormy Weather.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning all.

Having a good tour despite no rugby. The matches were cancelled yesterday due to the storm so the boys went swimming, quad biking and rugby on the beach. An excellent day and they had great fun!

Best of luck LMH and any other racers today.

What: 2 matches of rugby today
Why: what goes on tour stays on tour
Last hard: son's a bit fed up with broken finger 😔
    Last resr: Storm Hannah argh!
  • Good Morning.

Great choice of lyrics for yesterday;-)

LMH: Enjoy your jog around the streets of London;-)
Daisy: Sounds like a good Tour with lots of fun things to do.
    OH: Good luck with race:-)

Go well all racers and look forward to race reports later.

    What:7 miles
Why: Because I can and did
    Last hard: Storm Hannah yesterday/powercut
    Last rest: Yesterday
    Lyrics:Heck yes!! Good choice

A great run this morning legs started off achy and I thought oh no,but they soon joined in and may even been PB for course will check
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

    What: short run/fitness suite

    Why: being careful

And will be tracking some race or other in London.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning!

Looking forward to a morning of VLM watching from the sofa.. Hope all goes well for LMH.

Hope you have had a better night's sleep Chicksta.  I run hill races by effort, it is a case of dial in to an effort which I think I can keep up for the expected duration of the course.  The legs just have to shut up and get on with it.  If things get too steep and technical I walk.

Promising parkrun result Ale in particular in those conditions.

Good call on the rest day Dustin considering the upcoming schedule.

    Arrggh to the builders emzap

Hmm - WHW AH - nice.  Hope the Orkney runner isn't too badly hurt.

Good alternative program for the rugby squad Daisy.  Hope they have better luck with the weather today.

Good run this morning WP.  Always nice when a run is iffy at the outset and comes out like that.

What: some sort of longer run later (post VLM watching)
    Why: gentle endurance miles
Last hard: getting the right calf to stop grumbling post Friday's steps
    Last rest: yesterday

    Lyrics: no - sorry.

    Have a good Sunday everyone.

    Hiya
    Sounds good OH
LmH - catch you on the other side!

What - 4-5 hour marathon (on the sofa, tracker running, feet up)
    Why - VLM
    Last rest - Friday
    last hard - last week

I will pop out for an easy 10k later....
  • Its fun watching isn't it Dustin.  The tracker is working fine so far (unlike for Manchester).

LMH is doing great I would say (through 10k)..

Looking good for LMH 💪 she's speeding up 👏👏

I put the Vienna ghosts to rest today with a 1:36:48 half marathon in Hamburg in torrential rain. Loved every minute of it. I think this is the first time I ever experienced being totally in the zone. 3rd in age group and 23rd woman overall. Especially pleased with a 77.1% age grading.
  • What 10k through the streets of Kirkwall (57m15)
    Local race.
Good conditions. 10C and just a breath of wind.
    Still quite hard.

    Hope you're doing well LMH
  • Chick: Well done on race, placing and especially age grading :)
Oh: Well done on your race today :)
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

10ks are always hard, OH. Well done.

Thanks, poppy. Just realised that this is my 2nd fastest half marathon ever 😲 and the first time in a half that I had to start hobbling in the final k due to calf cramps :D  couldn't put it my usual sprint finish.

C'mon LMH 👏👏 nearly there now

I suspect LmH will be a bit disappointed, but that's still a fantastic time...

All I can say is this sofa marathon is hard work and very draining but glad all my runners are home!

Dustin I agree LMH will be disappointed, but a fantastic time indeed.

I checked my times and much to my surprise I was a minute a mile faster for my course this morning but not run route since last summer pre broken foot.

    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

  • And over the line! Bloody well done..

Wow Chicksta that is a fast HM.  Congratulations on your 3rd.  Did you get to stand on a podium and get a prize?  I hope so.

Well done OH too for your 10k

Right - most of the runners I have been tracking are finished so I need to think about getting out myself.
  • Well done LMH and Chicksta

    Afternoon!

    Great running Chick! Nice WAVA!

Well done on the local 10k, OH!

Am guessing you will be disappointed, LMH, especially as your strength has always seemed to be the second half. Look forward to your views! Certainly not a disaster!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

No prizes, Hazel. The main event today was the marathon. They squeeze the half in before (8:25 start) with a tight cut-off (around 2:25 I think). Once the half runners are over the line everyone just waits for the fast Kenyans doing the full :)
    Enjoy your run.

Hope you're not disappointed LMH. You're still my hero and run times that most of us can only dream of.

Forgot to say: I know today's lyrics

Great run Chicksta - that's an impressive wava score!

Well done OH, Chick and LMH!

Just heading home from Devon. Boys played brilliantly today. Won one and lost one (that was against a tough club but they held it together and played out of their skins....frustrated the winning team and held up two tries). A very proud rugby mum!

Will done Chick, what a fantastic time.
Waiting to hear how lmh did.

What: walk through more bluebells this morning followed by a nice brunch
Why: it makes me feel better getting out and about
    Last hard: sleeping
    Lyrics: nope

Just finished watching marathon as was out this morning. Have been offline in case someone gave something away!

Lmh just found your time. Fantastic result. I know it won't be what you wanted but you've had such a tough year and can still run so well. You are definitely an inspiration :)
