Tuesday 14th May 2019 When I was just a little girl

Morning!

Lyrics: When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be

What: short run and a long stretch

Why: Tuesday routine

Looking like another beautiful day. Often is for exam time.

Wonder how OH is getting on.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - So Far Away - Dire Straits.

It does look beautiful chicksta. Hope you can enjoy relaxing.

I think it's going to be another nice day here too Alehouse but it's forecast to get colder again after tomorrow.

    What:             short and easy
Why:              a shorter run is sensible
Last hard:      knowing what to do in these two weeks I can potentially 'train'
    Last rest:       4/5

    Lyrics - of course.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning all
Wabo - good news about your Mum
Chick - lovely photos, I'm not at all envious...
Ale - hoping the stretching helps that achilles
RFJ - good news with the C25K improvers

What - club night, weighing up pyramids on grass versus 800s on track
    Why - club sessions
    last rest - 9 days
last hard - gunna be today
    lyric - I believe so
  • HazelnutCHHazelnutCH ✭✭✭
Good your club caters for such groups RFJ.

Hope everything is going well for OH.

Nice weather here too Ale - just a bit windy.

The goats are well secured LMH (mostly).  It is a marten that gets to the car on a regular basis.  We have a built in shocker but it finds ways of getting past it it seems.

Hmm - both club night options sound like hard work Dustin.

What: HM dress rehearsal - 8 miles with 2 @ HMP.  I think I will have to do an Ale and get on the bus and run home due to the wind.   Will make for inaccurate pacing but I'm not running against regular 60kmh + gusts.  Not too much wind forecasted for the race fortunately.
    Why: race week
    Last rest: 6.5

    Lyrics: yes

    Have a nice day everyone
  • Very hot day for us unacclimatized northerners. Stated off well, 7 miles at 1h5, but fell apart at 9 miles due to heat (20°C) and right sided metatarsal pain. Crossed the line at 2h15m50 having been overtaken by quite a few in last 4 miles.

Great to see all the CW crowd again.
I had a surprise role at meet and greet reading out my spoof account of last year's marathon (written as military operation write up with lots of in references) All done when dressed as Royal Marine (difficult to cover up until appearance)

Middle of roaders at Pub Quiz last night

Today is 5 mile cross country route "2 Lochs" which I shall take easy.

    Last hard yesterday.

    Lyrics: vaguely familiar but no
  • That's windy Hazel!

Is it your double track weekend this weekend Dustin?

You're having it warmer than us OH! Hope you can enjoy it.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Why: time poor
    Last Hard : Sunday's Race
    lyrics: Oh I think so:-)

Quads, calf and glutes still achy but in a good way:-) I need steeper hills in training I think;-)
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

That is warm OH.  I hope your foot is ok.  I have just been scanning the CWC website.  That looks like a fantastic but tough week.  I'm not at all jealous...

Hills are fun WP - or at least I try to tell myself they are when trying to run up them.  It is often the downs that get my legs.

    Afternoon all
    oh these lyrics, yes, sad
Hazel I did Cape wrath 2007 and have been wanting to go back ever since! Its amazing, think OH always does it. One day I will go back..

    Dustin, club night- enjoy!!
LMH glad the aches are good aches!

What: mile d&d this am, 2-3 later
why: I realise as family stuff pulls me it is good to get that mile in a.m.
    last hard: this morning
    last rest: 31/12/16
    have a good day all
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • WelshpoppyWelshpoppy ✭✭✭
Hazel: I agree it is the downhill that gets me as well.I  do run hills just not as steep as Sunday I usually over 8 miles will climb 125m but the race did that in 4.7 miles :)

Hope family stuff eases Wabo xx
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

Sorry, thought I'd posted yesterday (⁴.5 km very easy run walk)

    What: walk plus yoga
Why: place has come up at the antenatal course
Last hard: this may be. Haven't been for 2 years!
    Lyrics: oui

Wabo glad to hear mum is on the mend
Chick what stunning views. Not jealous at all!
Hazel I could do with one of those goats. The gardener hasn't turned up for weeks (shared front lawn, neighbour wants to pay for a gardener but no use if he doesn't show!)
    Ale glad Achilles is behaving
Oh sounds like fun and good running in hot weather

    Have a lovely day all

You're all very welcome to those effing hills ... my legs are shot after 3 days and I'm only running 5k per day... tried anther route with 'only' 119m of climb in 2k. That's as flat as it gets here I fear.

Bet there's loads more hills for OH doing the Cape Wrath challenge though.  Well done on day one.

Hazel: I'm sure you can smash that HM PB. You're faster than me and I've just run a 1:36
Lavender grows best at about 1000m above sea level.

Em: enjoy yoga. They have mats here so I may skip running tomorrow for yoga and persuade hubby to go for a hike to some waterfalls.

    Apt choice of lyrics, ale.

    LMH: How are the calfs?

    What: see above
Why: difficult to find runnable bits
    Last hard: finding runnable bits
    Last rest: Saturday
    Lyrics: of course
