Hi, not sure where to put this so sorry if it's in the wrong place. Any recommendations for a shampoo I can use every day after running or workouts which doesn't leave my hair like straw?
I can't recommend highly enough shaving it all off - no worries about how it looks, you can protect your head from sun by just smearing in sun cream, no time to dry it after your shower. The perfect solution.
I think shampoo is one of those things where what suits one person doesn't suit another. Having said that, I use Dove Pro Age range and my hair is in good nick *swishes hair*
I shampoo my hair twice, first time with a clarifying/deep cleansing shampoo to get rid of the sweat build up (Tre-Semme Deep Cleanse is very good and pretty cheap) , second time with my normal shampoo and then follow with conditioner. Using Organix Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner at the moment which so far has been brilliant and keeping my hair looking shiny and swishy. The coconut and almond shampoo and conditioner from Boots Ingredients range is really good too (and cheap, they are about 90p a bottle)
I use tre-semme or pantene if i can. Pantene or aussi conditioner seems to work well but normally i'll do a "deep cleanse" once a week/month and that normally brings it back to life.
Thanks for your replies everyone. At the moment I use Tre-semme shampoo and a leave-in conditioner. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to conditioners etc but I guess I'll have to be a bit more diligent! Think I'll try some mini bottles of the ones you've mentioned, the sort they have for holidays and see which suits my hair.
Hello, I have really dry hair from bleaching it. I use Tresemme for dry/dehydrated hair. It's the bottles with the blue labels - it's seriously amazing (for me anyway)

I have the green labels so will look out for that, thanks. Hair's not coloured, unless you count 'natural highlights' (grey) !
I always used to use Pantene but a few years ago a hairdresser told me that it just coats your hair with silicone deposits rather than actually improve it's health/appearance. Apparently you can get silicone free Pantene though.
I really recommend the Boots Coconut & Almond stuff, they also do an intensive hair mask which is brilliant and only £2 http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Ingredients-Coconut-Almond-Intensive-Hair-Mask-350ml_863453/ its a bit too rich to use every time I wash my hair as too many applications tend to make my hair greasy, but its great for a hair treat once a week/fortnight.
This thread kind of makes me pleased I don't have any hair! By time you've warmed up, done your run, warmed down, stretched, showered, washed and conditioned your hair about 3 times it must be time for your next run??
What SKF says ... just shave it all off. If you're female you'll look like Sinead O'Connor when she did that (no bad thing imho). If you're male you'll look like a Red Army deserter for a day or two and then get used to it.

Slaphead is where it's at
I did this a few years back when I got seriously fed up with all the washing and grooming. Started off with loooooong hair, gave myself a no. 3. Don't think I looked much like Sinead O'Connor though. Easy for blokes to go short but as a female it tends to get you some rather strange looks. Colleagues thought I had cancer. Parents thought I was declaring myself a proud lesbian. LOL!
If you don't fancy the baldy option I agree with Sarah - all the Dove shampoos and conditioners are lovely. I wait till they're on 1/2 price offer and buy in bulk.
If you not brave enough to shave it all off (the only sensible and best looking solution imho) then go for a number 1, or at maximum, a number 2. No problem washing it, dries in no time at all. Be brave try it, I first had number 1 15 years ago, and won't have it more than a number 3 or so ever again.

Thanks, but a tad extreme! I'd like to keep my hair, while I still can.

I tend to go for whatever is on BOGOF.
Maybe try a bit of conditioner?

so true! I often wish I didn't have any toenails too - no need to cut them, no black ones!

I don't think I want to go any shorter than the No. 8 I've got at the moment, thanks!
I multi-task and do some quad and calf stretches in the shower while I've got the conditioner on
Coconut shampoo & leave-in conditioner bought. Will try out after tomorrow's run

Tesco value shower gel - 30p and a bottle lasts ages - reckon it works out about 0.25p a shower for a hair and body wash. I do have a no 1 cut though!

@ runs-with-dogs.. big C comment made me lol. Want to keep hair! Coconut shampoo & conditioner seems good so far. Thanks for replies everyone!
