Enjoyed your running camp then SG Had the notebook out again then to get all that detail in..
I've got to do 4.7 miles in under 27.02 on Saturday to get the v40 leg record off my training partner on Saturday. Greensand ridge relay. 5.45's...didn't realise it was that fast. Shit!
Did 6 x 1k Regents Pk yesterday, the old 500m down and 500m back up the Broadwalk slope with 90 secs. I think I have got the distance correct now - as they were 3.18, down to 3.10. Timed the last rep as 3.02 from where I used to stop the watch.
Cheers MH, hope you feel better soon.
SW - yes the Notts 5,000 is the same night as the MK 5,000. I had a little convo with them on twitter and they said they will try not to clash with MK next year! I fancy it as I lived in Nottm for 2 years in the late 90's and would be great to catch up with some mates too.
SG - I think a couple of HHH have done a tough mudder once, think that's as far as it's gone. We'll leave endure to Runners clubs etc etc..(JOKING )

I was thinking of racing the Misbourne 10k at the weekend. Classic off-road, school related, local cock-and-biscuit job. Pre entry was £14, but unfortunately online entries had stopped by last night. EOD is £20! I don't mind paying that for some race, especially if road closures etc are needed, but £20 to run round some woods that I run round on my way to work seems a bit steep!
SG - If it's harder than a marathon - then definitely another reason not to do it
I've done some relays before, where folk do the event on the Saturday, then get pissed in the clubhouse and camp in the field overnight. I'd prefer that sort of thing. Sod running overnight !
Pete - Good run and nice prizes too, nice to see. See Padams on the Sub3 thread won a half at the weekend with 6,000 entrants and (up to now) has no prize. Ridiculous.
excellent racing and congrats on the prize Pete!
SC - Yes I noticed the two clashed which is a shame as there aren't many events like that. Looking forward to it. Out of interest do you wear spikes for 5k on the track or your road flats? If so which spikes?
Forgot to say thanks to Scott for the shoe recommendations, I'll check those models out! On have just released a new cushioned shoe as well which i'll take a look at as well

Pete - another good turnout, and more prizes hoovered up!Do you reckon it's a full 5miles? I saw some strava readings under, but like my relay, in woodlands and turns, it could well underreport....But low 28s is a pretty darn good effort from the boy Twom if it is. As I thought he was in and around me, but a legit 5mile 28.10 or so would surely be well down the 27s on a flat road course.SC - an interesting relay has to be that Green Belt one.More along what you describe. Each runner does a leg on the sat and sun, and you have a team large up in the middle. An animal to organise though. 11-12 runners per team, 100+ mile course, trying to get the logistics right to get runners to and from locations. The only one that I've seen that looks harder work is that Norfolk relay - which seems to combine the worst things of every other event - ie night legs, super long distance, across some tough terrain at times! Phew!Joe - did I see that you organise Clapham for this event, or was that another event?
