Monday 8th July 2019 - How many of you people out there

Morning.

Lyrics - How many of you people out there

Sounds like a tough day out OH. Hope you enjoyed the ceilidh.

Lovely morning here and a nice day forecast - unfortunately I have a full day of mandatory training training to 'look forward' to - and another tomorrow so very limited running opportunities. It wouldn't be so bad if it was something I was interested in.

What:           short and easy
Why:            work stops play
Last hard:    staying awake and engaged for this course could be hard
Last rest:     14/6

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning

Oh well done on a hard marathon :)

My own race did not go to plan too hot, start delayed once we had lined up in our pens.So opted for Plan B just get around which I did a tough day in the office especially when I thought mile 5 was actually 6...oops any how finished in 58.37 chip time.Job done and a good speed session in the heat. Onwards to the next one :)

    What: 5.65 mile
Why: Recovery run and stop at village for banana's
    Last hard: Yesterday
    Lyrics: Nope

Legs felt good  in a tired and heavy sort of way, achilles was achy to start but settled down so all in all a good run.
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.
    Progression
  • Sorry you didn't have the race you wanted Poppy.

Any idea what's caused the niggles Alehouse? Only time for seven miles this morning and it's so nice out  :(

Sounds like a good recovery OH.

Could it be the chlorine emzap?

    Morning again!

Very difficult to get going sometimes in these busy races, isn't it WP. Just take the positives from it!

What: about 25 mins. Started with M74 but turned off.

Why: seems to be an issue around a hip flexor. Couldn't push off properly on the uphill and turning wasn't great. May have overstretched in the fitness suite. Who knows! Roller and spiky ball time.

Yes, pleasant out there LMH, and would have been perfect for a longer run.

Glad legs are not too bad, OH!

Not that warm here today. Have been in shorts for both my walks and I'm a bit cold!

Lmh that's a good suggestion. I don't feel like I have a cold apart from the slightly blocked nose/sinus feeling.

Ale yes, looking forwards (if that's the right way to put it?!) To my specialist appointment tomorrow.

Oh that's even more impressive that you can do stairs!

Well done OH and poppy. All I want is a sit down shower post marathon, OH. Amazing how you managed to dance the night away.

A race in the heat is never easy, poppy. Like you said, it's good speedwork.

Fingers crossed you can iron those niggles out, ale.

LMH is right, em. It sounds like pool flu.

Hope the training course isn't too boring, LMH.

What: 7 mile progression run followed by yoga
Why: been neglecting my yoga a bit
Last hard: Berlin sneaking up on me
    Last rest: 30/6
    Lyrics: no

  • Good to hear that your mum is doing so well Wabo. For some reason I've always thought that you were dark haired - no idea why!

Why were you planning to retire from marathons OH?

Hope the appointment tomorrow helps emzap.

The content isn't great but the trainer is very interesting and engaging - it's been a long day for me though and another the same tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the mystery niggle Alehouse.

Well done OH. Interesting way of avoiding DOMS.

Is the swimming compensating a bit for you not being able to run emzap?

At least you have a good trainer LMH.

Well done WP for the 10k, always good to have a plan B.

Hope those niggles are very temporary Ale. Did you punish the spiky ball and the roller?

Hope the progression run went well Chicksta.

Lovely pic Wabo, you both look very happy! Shame about the race but if you weren't feeling great better to drop it.

Last hard: vet visit with furry due to poor tum.
