  • Morning.

    Yesterday's lyrics - English Summer - Eurythmics.

Go well chicksta. Unfortunately the car issue isn't going to be sorted until some time tomorrow at best.

The bites on my leg finally stopped itching Friday evening - so one of the little buggers bit me on the arm yesterday, whatever is causing these I obviously don't like as  despite an antihistamine I now have a large red bump on my forearm. I've been using your pinching technique for distraction from the itching Hazel - thank you.

It's a lovely morning here but we are forecast heavy rain from 1100hrs so I'm probably going to get another soaking. I much preferred last summer's weather!

    What:           hopefully a LSR
    Why:            marathon training
    Last hard:    not scratching
    Last rest:      27/7

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

    Go well, Chick!

Heading in the right direction, RFJ! Wish I was!

What: short run plus longer fitness suite

    Why: helping at 5k/routine

I have sent LMH a 10% off plus free postage sports shoes.com code. If anyone else wants it let me know.

Cricket was particularly exciting yesterday evening but got soaked on the way home. Torrential! Hope it stays dry today.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning!

Good luck today to Chicksta and anyone else pinning on a number (?)

Nice way to finish your week off RFJ with a great pr improvement.

Boo to the bite and the car niggles LMH.  Hope the rain held off a bit for you to get in the LSR without too much of a drenching.

    Have a good Sunday all.

What: 13 miles once breakfast has been digested a bit more
Why: couldn't face going out without this morning
Next hard: warmth/sun will be but that is my fault for not getting up
    Last rest: 1.08.

    Lyrics: no
  • You must be due a period of good health and no niggles Alehouse, you seem to have had to put up with one thing after another for a long while now. Hope you stayed dry.

Hope it didn't get too hot for you Hazel, it was warm and humid here but the rain hasn't materialised as yet, it keeps moving back on the forecast so it may disappear totally.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

I second what LMH says, ale.

Hope it wasn't too hot, Hazel.

Annoying re. car, LMH. I don't know, but whenever something on my car breaks it costs 1000 Euro. Some secret flat rate thing between garages perhaps?

Well, my run was too hot and too hilly and generally quite horrible. I'd mistaken the 7.5k fun run course for the half so my race did only go along the sea front for 2k before hitting the undulating terrain that's so typical for a geology shaped by ice age glaciers. They call it Holsteinische Schweiz for a reason :D
Put the effort in but the pace was abysmal. Not helped by the fact that I couldn't generate much power with my left leg ... Back issue rearing it's ugly head again. My osteo is back next week - I need to get this sorted.

Still, it was an interesting course and I wish I'd been able to do it justice. Good prep for next Saturday's 30k trail race :D at least I know the course profile of that one even if it's in a totally different area.

    Evening!

Sorry you didn't quite get what you wanted, Chick. And your back is a priority now! Do you do much strengthening work on your glutes?

re my niggles, this current fracture is a pain as I feel niggle free otherwise...although that may be because I have only had very easy, short running for the last two weeks since the "incident".
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Hopefully the back thing will prove to be a blessing in disguise Alehouse and your other niggles will be fine once it's sorted and you're able to pick up your training again.

Getting the effort right is what counts chicksta. The trail race next weekend sounds good - another hilly one?

I have a mystery back niggle, really sore lower back on the left side, no idea what's caused it and hope it clears up as quickly as it came.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

The back fracture is certainly not a blessing in disguise, LMH! Has put paid to my very short racing season! Actually the consultant noted the other day how strong my legs were compared to a year ago, so had been heading in the right direction, as had the times. I think this year's racing window of opportunity has gone!

Ale - sorry to hear your woes, hopefully will be sorted with rest and strength.

My leg issue has now been going on for over a year.... next appointment with specialist is now not till October so doubt that the MRI's showed anything. Have some 10ks booked and a 10m in 4 weeks that will be the interesting one.... as only managed 9.3m in trg to date....

5.5m this morning before Church with some strides

Chick sorry to hear race was not as planned either

    Take care all

    Evening all
What: a couple of walks and a long nap
Why: didn't sleep well, I woke up not being able to move my hands and though it's eased during the day I'm still struggling
    Last hard: my wrists/hands

Ale that is a right pain :(
Chick, good accidental strength training I guess?!
Lmh hope you get the car sorted. Can't believe the little beggers got you again!
    Rfj how frustrating

Did festival last night was great but I could only eat a couple of mouthfuls of chicken so ended up eating after. Everyone else had great food though so definitely worth going to.

    Have a lovely evening all
