Thursday 29th August 2019 - Basic instincts, social life

Morning.

Lyrics - Basic instincts, social life

My thoughts exactly OH. How is the weather looking for your weekend adventures?

It certainly makes a difference RFJ. Feels as though we haven't had a summer and winter is coming early:-(

What:            MLR if I can persuade the legs to cooperate
Why:             Chasing miles this week
Last hard:     Seeing book now for Christmas signs!
Last rest:      27/7
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning all
Thanks for all the comments re Tuesday's session, normality returned yesterday with easy miles.
LmH - hear you with Christmas, noticed it last night: village group train at 8, now it's almost dark before we start and someone mentioned the C word...

What - U11 coaching, so easy miles for me
    Why - Thursday
    last rest - 10 days
    last hard - Tuesday
    lyric - don't think so

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

    What: short run/longer fitness suite

    Why: hamstrung

You seem to be banking a lot of miles this week, LMH!

    Enjoy your holiday, Wabo!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • The 'plan' is for a last big week this week then a two week taper into Vale of York Half Alehouse - we are on holiday next week so I expect mileage to be very reduced and I'm hoping that I should be nice and fresh for the half but have enough endurance banked to see me do well at York with another two or three weeks big mileage (depending on recovery from VoY) before tapering. No improvement in your hamstring?

It's dark in the mornings too Dustin - quite depressing for a sun and light lover like me.

Good job skin's waterproof Poppy :-)

It was chilly when I set out for my run (feels like 8C according to the Met) but bright. My legs were quite happy to bimble so the MLR became a LSR and whilst not remotely fast I did come home with a comfortable negative split.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Afternoon all
I was sensible and didn't race last night. The cweekend was still in my legs, had gentle run to son and family, stayed a bit then jogged back. Just under 5 miles in all
Lmh great running, you know you really inspire me, when I think I can't do so and so miles I think of you
Poppy nice miles too! Blimey that must have been a blip that 210!
Dustin enjoy your easy miles, can't think of c word though wait a minute me and said son discussed it!!!
Alehouse blooming hamstring, hope it eases up

What a really lovely streak saving 1.3 on trails
Why all I had time for , now en route to Cornwall
Last  hard that was sort of
    Last rest 31/12/16
    Have a great day all
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Happy to help Wabo :-) Hope you have a lovely holiday - is it just you and OH this time?

    Afternoon!

Consultant report: nothing showed up on latest tests so all good. He thinks the hamstring issue is related to the problems with the sacrum and has contacted a physio for me. See her on Tuesday.

Sunny now after a grey morning. A fair amount of gardening/cross training banked. Short run and fitness suite this evening. And talking of banked, well done this morning, LMH!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

I think LMH inspires most of us ;)

Sensible plan, wabo. Enjoy the hols.

    That's good news,  ale.

I'm with you, poppy. Rather run in the cool rain than the heat.

8 degrees sounds like my idea of heaven, LMH. Want my usual 20+ early doors?

What: just 5k but did my 5x600 intervals  today
Why: Thunder and lightning this morning scuppered any running plans
Last hard: carving out time to get to the gym
    Last rest: 11/8
    Lyrics: no

Yesterday's were Eddie Cochran, Summertime Blues
  • Yes please chicksta! I like it hot:-) Is your back ok now?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Good news AH

Hill run (7 miles) then reservoir swim (800m)
Why: nice morning and no work today
