No no I definitely am slower, as a result of doing literally no training for months. Been a bit busy. However I nominated myself xc captain at some point so still have to turn up!
That's good news, Skinny.
Sounds fun, Muddy. I noted on the results those from your club, after the club name it has in brackets "(RIE)", what is that for?
I have been less adventurous, posting 50m which is decent after a 10m race. Did a track run Friday night as the race course remains flooded and given the weather since Friday and pending, it looks set to remain that way for a while. Easy 13 yesterday to round off the week.
Another decent week planned this week then taper for Telford 10k.
Good news, Skinny. Long may it continue.
Muddy - good photo that. Sounds like a fun race!
Had a pretty tough week at work including heading up to Aberdeen, via London and Edinburgh so running had to take a back seat. Managed a few miles on Aberdeen coast path on Wednesday evening in a bit of a gale which was hard going.
Did parkrun with Bob and a few others on Saturday morning, I started off being the unofficial 20 minute pacer, although nobody ended up staying with me. Pleasingly I finished in 20:00, despite nearly slowing down too much in the last 100 yards and then had to do a bit of a sprint in the last 5-10 metres.
Need to get a couple of races pencilled in
Skinny good news on the running front
Muddy great picture not so good on the nettles
DT good mileage last week
Tommy perfect solo pacing
Managed 14mls on Saturday easy pace, for over 40mls for the week. Picked up a cold over the past few days so not planning on running until Wednesday to see if I can shift it.
Cheers muddy, unfortunately I can't make the pudding run, otherwise that would have been perfect.
Decent mileage, Kevin. When's your next race?
It feels like it's been raining here for weeks
I notice on SG thread that someone has said Abbey Dash has been measured short according to someone on Facebook. Can't find anything else about it and wonder if it is just this year or includes 2016 when I ran my 10k PB.
23m short this year..."Due to slight alterations in the course landscape" whatever that means.
Where is the line drawn here though? My 10k pb was on a course that came out 6.15m on my garmin, which is probably why it's now 2 years old. I doubt anyone is going to bother remeasuring that one. So is the risk only associated with big races?
I was always slightly uneasy with just sneaking sub 3 hours in Yorkshire as my garmin had it 26.21m. London of course is very safe.
10k peaking session over lunch, 6 x 1m at 10kp off 1 minute. Reps came out at 6.12, 6.10, 6.08, 6.16, 6.10 and 6.10. Pleased with that as it wasn't hands to knees wishing to be put out of my misery after each rep. It was hard work in the 2nd half though. Racecourse was pretty slippy in many places so had to exercise quite a bit of caution as well.
Hoping to get good news from the Berlin ballot tomorrow after rejections the last 2 years. It's proving more difficult to get in through this ballot than London did for me years back.
That's about 40m isn't it?
Skinny, yes, I need to run 6.10mm to pb. I went though 10k at 6.13mm in the Derby 10m race so i'm in the zone for sure.
