Nicko, that's a swift first mile!
Well done on your efforts, SBD.
I tried spin last night, being my first exercise since last Tuesday. Lower back/glute was unhappy and has stiffened p today again. Not really sure what the issue is as I have seen chiro and physio and both were pretty unconcerned by my symptoms. Back to chiro tomorrow morning. I guess if you are going to spend a few weeks injured this is probably a pretty good time to do it.
I suspect the schools will all close by Friday, whether the government want to or not, as they won't have enough teaching staff able to come in due to their own or a family members symptoms.
Someone on my local parkrun fb page last night, during a conversation about the inevitable cancellation, said they were just going to turn up as usual anyway and do a freedom run. That sent me into meltdown, the sheer stupidity and pointlessness of it. Just go out anywhere, on your own or with a friend or two and run 5k locally.
These are certainly bizarre times.
We are being swamped in work with clients wanting to understand what they can do re short term lay offs, hours/salary reductions, sick pay etc. Businesses are going wild, and rightly so.
I went to the chiro this morning. Before I could enter reception I was scanned by a thermometer, temp was good at 35.5.
I tried to run last night and within 500m my left glute just seized up. Chiro, like physio are both happy this is just a muscle strain in the glute/piriformis and I just need to be patient. The chiro was quite well informed on the race situation and was clear that there was no reason why I couldn't be patient and stay off for a week.
