Monday 31st August 2020 - Just running scared

Just running scared, each place we go So afraid, that he might show

Rare Monday morning post but I'm jumping in as 2 colleagues are off and one can't handle the workload alone.

Fingers crossed, RFJ.

Will catch up later once I've decided what to do :)

  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - I Wish I could by Norah Jones.

Sounds as though you are a few steps closer to starting the meds RFJ. I hope that they help and that your work situation is resolved in a way that suits you.

You a really back in to your running chamolk. Unfortunately I hadn't recovered from the effects of the last fall though this does at least mean that my Lola related injury isn't stopping me running in itself - we might have fallen out otherwise

Nice photo Wabo - you're looking in good shape.

Hope the Monday at work isn't too much of a shock to the system chicksta. I keep hearing of numbers rising in Germany - any changes where you are?

Alehouse - glad you got your heating sorted. We have resisted so far but it's been close. Funnily enough as I lay on the pavement yesterday I was concerned about how long it was taking me to get up and once I was on my feet I was wondering if i should be worried about how often I was falling over!

We are forecast a still, dry but chilly day. I may take my bike out for a spin but I'll see how I feel after Lola's morning walk.

    What:           no running
    Why:            still crocked
Last hard:    getting back to being able to run
Last rest:     I laid down on the pavement yesterday

    Lyrics - no.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Hope work doesn't get in the way of some exercise, Chick!

    Enjoy the bike, LMH!

What: about an hour with M75 plus stretches

Why: his idea/need to stretch. Will be well wrapped up I think. 6 degrees again but bright and sunny.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning

Will you be able to do a different day off instead chicksta?  Those gardens look nice, the weather too.

Good news your plumbing is fixed Ale.  6 degrees and sunny sounds nice (with enough clothing).  Have a nice chat with M75.

Enjoy the TdF WP - hoping it is going to be run in full.  Take it easy if you are not well.

Great result and foto Wabo.  Cornwall with your mum will be something to look forward to.

Difficult times both work and illness wise RFJ.  Hope the running provides a bit of distraction at least.  You are doing well on your target.

Hope the rest day was a good one chamolk.

Have a nice bike ride if you do go out LMH.

    What: recovery
    Why: Monday
Last hard: still haven't done those bloody taxes - spent too much time poring over adverts for flats to let, looking at some from the outside etc.
    Last rest: 30.03

    Lyrics: no

    Morning all
Enjoy the recovery hazel, I do oh's taxes but he's employed now so one year to do then that's it
Alehouse enjoy your run, 6 degrees is a big difference to here! We've  got 13
Lmh enjoy the bike if you do. You've been really unlucky with the falls!

What 10k first claim club challenge
Why they said half or 10k I prefer the latter
Last hard yesterday last rest 31/12/16
Mum in good spirits yesterday and looking forward to our trip Thursday

Thanks for photo comments. The guy behind me was checking where I was all the on that home stretch which really spurred me on ( no pun intended but he's also a spurs fan). I first met him a few years back when he and I had a real battle in a 5k race, he just kept sprinting off and kept thinking, oh just go away will you!! He beat me that time. He's great I really like him, he takes my weds training group

Hope you find a nice new place to live, Hazel. As soon as my sick workmate is back I will take my day off, rest assured :)

Ale: I drove into work early to beat the Monday morning rush hour and ended up run/walking to a nearby park where I did 20 mins of s&c stuff and then did the same run/walk thing back. So, another 5k chalked off. My left foot is rather painful. I'm glad when that one's done too so I can build up properly.  Enjoy your run with M75 and wrap up warm.

LMH: so far your falls were all instigated by dogs so hopefully you have nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed. Hope you're not too sore today.

    What: see above
Why: building up a teensy bit of fitness before the next op
Last hard: having to work on a Monday (luxury problem, I know)
Last rest: yesterday was a non-run day
  • I don't really enjoy riding the bike most of the time and not when it's this cold but it feels really lazy not to do something today whilst it's still and dry - ideal day for a long run :-(

How long do you have to find somewhere to move to Hazel?

When is the op scheduled for your left foot chicksta? I seem to remember beginning of October?

I thought it was your OH in the photo Wabo.

    How are your niggles Alehouse?

My left hip is fine walking - the right knee is still the limiting factor.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning again!

What: just over 9k with M75 preceded by some unenthusiastic stretching

Why: what M75 wanted and I was fine by that. Legs tired but probably from a lot of kneeling yesterday, with more to come later no doubt.

Niggles, LMH? Nothing particular, I hope, but then again there is always something to try not to complain about!

Sounds good, Chick! Left foot apart!

Enjoy the 10k, Wabo! But be careful with back to back hard runs! 9 degrees when I ran but M75 had been to his allotment where it had fallen to 3.7 overnight!

August figures: no races, no parkruns, 31 days run, 242.7km run (150.8 miles), weight loss zero.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Lmh my oh is 21 years younger than me so definitely not him lol!
I think the 10k easy alehouse it was only for fun and my legs wouldn't allow anything else. Well done on your run
Miles for August 106, I have done one covid safe race. Third highest miles for an August so that's not bad considering my back knocked me out for a week

  • That sounds positive Alehouse.

I thought I was bad with a toy boy Wabo - but mine is only three years younger!

Too nice a day to waste sitting inside feeling sorry for myself so I took the bike out. Longest ride of this year and probably last and maybe even the one before - though only 26 miles. I don't miss the days of the 100 mile training rides though.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

haha, I have a sugar daddy then - 19 years my senior :)

Don't blame you not missing those long rides, LMH. Well done braving the two wheels. My second op is end of October (27). Due to our hols mid October that was the only possibility. There was a slot for next week but it would have meant to take the surgical boot on hols with no walking, hiking or mountain biking which will make the whole trip rather pointless.

Nice August miles, Ale. 3.7 degrees is definitely too cold for August.

    Afternoon all
Apologies for the absence the last few days I will read back in more detail.
Looks like some photos to look at and a pigeon related incident to read up on!
I'm a toy boy too, admittedly only 2 years though...

Erring on the cautious side so not run since Thursday's aborted half mile.
Very annoying as I've spent much of the weekend kicking my heels.
6 mile walk yesterday and a walk to and from the Falcon at lunchtime for youngest's 19th birthday lunch.
Out again tonight - mexican apparently. (the food, not the daughter!)
  • Els only 2.5  years younger than me - but has been mistaken for being my daughter on more than one occasion!

Various papers and figures sorted out for my accountant for tax year 2019-2020.
30 minutes on turbo. Painting another angle on the wreck we swim around.
    Self isolation activities.
Watched the Monday evening loop group set off from my front room.
3 more home sleeps to go ...
    Lyrics no
  • Nearly there OH!

Nice socialising Dustin. How is your hamstring when you're walking?
