Monday 14th September 2020 - It's over, it's all over

Morning.

Lyrics (for emzap) - It's over, it's all over

Said it's over, it's all over baby

Great that you are still able to enjoy a run and have started on the path to the meds RFJ.

Hope that everyone enjoys the celebrations emzap. Happy Birthday Lucas!

Nice photo's chicksta - sounds like a good walk.

I love runs like that Dustin.

No idea whether today is going to be a knee day or not. I'd hope so after so many days rest but it won't necessarily be so. We are forecast a nice day today and tomorrow so if I can't run I probably will take my bike out - will get me out of the way whilst Mark catches up with work after a week off too.

Yesterday's lyrics - The Same Mistake - Cher.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Morning

Enjoy the last day of your challenge emzap.  Happy Birthday to Lucas!  What are tractor trousers?

Hope the family is feeling better today Wabo and happy birthday to Giselle also.  Hmm - choc cake!

Nice pics yesterday chicksta, thanks - very vivid colours.  Love all the oranges and browns in autumn.

Deserted trail run sounds lovely Dustin.

Glad you have started planned treatment RFJ and running is ongoing.  Well done on the non-parkrun.

Have a nice get-out-of-the-way outing LMH whether running or biking.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Important day, Emz! Great cricket yesterday: did you catch it?

Talking sport, I imagine Wabo will be disappointed after Spurs' lack -lustre display yesterday.

Sounds positive, RFJ! Keep those runs going, and plenty of stretches and strengthening! Boring but important!

Hope that you can get something done, LMH. A bike ride at least.

    Bright pics, Chick!

What: a run of some description plus stretches

Why: it is a whatever-the-legs-decide day and the stretches are important!

Looks like it is going to be a fine day.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Hazel see below :)
  • Maybe try run up Minch Law a little hill near Peebles
    Distraction while anxiously waiting.
    Last hard all this week
    Last "rest" yesterday
    Lyrics no
  • Hope all goes well for Els, OH. Waiting isn't easy, either! If you are reading, Els, we are all thinking of you.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Definitely thinking of Els today. Does she have to stay in OH? I hope you manage to distract yourself with the run.

Nice skills emzap. A lovely day for a family walk and picnic.

Hope your Monday morning isn't too hard Hazel.

    Happy Birthday Giselle!

    Enjoy the nice weather Alehouse.

My knee definitely feels better than it did yesterday and I could try a run but I'm hoping that waiting another day will mean that it's even better so once it's warmed up I think I will take the bike out for a bimble. I have decided to stick with Wrexham. If it's on and I can run I will go. I realised that I don't need to run 26.2 miles on the 4th - I can just do a 20 mile last LSR and make up the remainder of the distance for the virtual London walking.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

emzap wow love the trousers! Happy first to Lucas, today is Giselle's 6th Birthday!!
Ah LMH thanks so much, sounds sensible re the knee
    good luck to Els
alehouse totally and utterly disappointed, your team did well though.  Have a good run and stretches
hazel, lyla well, now Cleo has the cold! SO many in their school have got a cold first week in!!! Chocolate cake looks yum, taking it round later today. Have a  good recovery run!
Emzap well done on the challenge

I have finished one challenge so it is now all eyes on John O Groats! Get the miles in
What: 2.75 mile run + 1 mile walk d&d, meeting oh later for another 3 mile run
why: grabbing monday by the horns! If spurs can't I can
    last hard: watching spurs!!
    last rest: 31/12/16
Did my run and then walked Lyla through the forest - her on balance bike doing tricks and singing th circus tune lol.  She is definitely better

possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can

Wabo Lucas has a cold too, it's the problem with being allowed to socialise after so long (nursery). We have banana cake here
  • Thoughts also with Els and OH.

Sounds like a plan LMH.  Have a good bike ride.

Trying to grab Monday by the horns also despite the lack of motivation Wabo.  Glad Lyla is better and enjoy the second part of your double.  All adds up to get you to JOG.

Love the tractor trousers emzap - I remember you like to do some sewing.  That cake looks very tasty too. Shouldn't have opened the thread when I am hungry! (not long to lunch fortunately).  How much of it will Lucas end up wearing :) ?
  • WaboWabo ✭✭✭
    wow that cake!!! yum yum
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Nice cake baking and decorating skills too emzap - you are a woman of many talents.

Glad to hear that Lyla is feeling better Wabo and you sound as though you are having a storming day.

Hope your work day doesn't drag too much Hazel.

I have been busy clearing ivy from a fence ready to paint and am tempted to keep going with it - we probably won't get the weather again. May mean no bike ride or possibly one this afternoon (though I'm a bit crackered already and don't want to crock myself and harm my chances of a run tomorrow).
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Minch Moor tick (576m) 5.1 miles and 1314' ascent

    (Still waiting ...)
  • That looks like a very good location for a distracting run OH. I hope you won't be waiting too much longer.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon!

Just over an hour off road this morning and was glad to bump into a local M71 towards the end as I was glad of a rest. He hasn't run since the start of lockdown and was popping to the shops. He has only been out a handful of times...and has put on two stone! I guess most of us have been more fortunate.

Nice pic, OH! A good way of waiting! Keep us posted re Els!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Hi...back on high dependency ward after theatre....tethered to arterial line and Flitton boots though. That cake looks great emz...feeling hungry but no food yet.
    Hi to everyone.
  • Afternoon again!

You sound in good spirits, Els! Good to hear! Hope recovery goes well.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Thank you for checking in Els. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

No bike ride for me today - I have spent the day painting fence panels, not quite finished but had enough for the day and need to walk Lola. Just hope I haven't scuppered my chances of running tomorrow. Needed doing though.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • All needs doing LMH and at least you're outdoors and not wasting a running day on it!
Well different to last time...polished off my meal just now....couldn't eat much for days last time.
Bad news is probably need 2 further procedures...will this never end?
  • Hiya
Els - Sounds like it all went well, recover quickly!
OH - glorious setting for a run out
    RFJ - sounds positive
Happy Birthdays to Lucas & Giselle! Any left over cake, please send it my way!
What - easy 5 at lunchtime & Fizz in an hour
Why - recovery & need ironing out
    last rest - 31/08
last hard - today tbh, a bit too warm at lunchtime and hammy was a little grumbly. Nothing an elbow or some needles won't put right tonight....
  • Glad to hear you have your appetite Els but it must be very disappointing to be told that you may need more procedures. When will they know for sure?

Hope the physio can ease your aches and pains Dustin.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Els: I was thinking exactly what LMH wrote! Frustrating.

Yes els what lmh said. Also, a lines are horrid so thinking of you for that as well! I still have a scar from mine this time last year! Hope you have some good news soon.

Had the most amazing day and a very tired little boy. Lucas ate pizza and cake for dinner, birthday boy dinner!

Wabo hope Giselle had a lovely day too.

  • Popping in quickly to check on els. Glad you're well enough to post. Bummer you need more procedures :(

11 hours on my free Monday. Does that qualify as a proper shit day? Have tomorrow off instead though 😊

Congrats on completing the challenge,  em. Cake looks fab. And Happy Birthday, little boy. Love the trousers 👍

Will catch up properly tomorrow as my eyes are having trouble focusing 😵

Managed a gym session first thing with elliptical & kettlebells 🏋‍♀️
  • Glad you are recovering well Els. Sorry to hear you will probably need more procedures. Hope you get some good rest tonight.

Hope the ivy went  lmh, blooming stuff!
