Morning!

Lyrics: Slow down, you move too fast,
You got to make the morning last

Most people will know these lyrics...but usually get the title wrong!

What: a run of some description this pm

Why: legs will decide what I do...as might the weather which is forecast to be rather wet.

Hope you can get some answers quickly, Chick.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - Sit Down by James.

We managed a dry walk with Lola this morning Alehouse but the rain has set in now. Hope you get a dry spell for your run.

Good that you managed to get the scan and diagnosis chicksta - hope you can get the injection today.

Lola is back at the vets today, hopefully the staples should be removed from her chest as the wound looks fine. Not sure about her leg as I can't tell when it's doing under the dressing but I expect it will probably need to be redressed, would be good if not though.

    Lyrics - yes.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Afternoon.

LMH what happened to Lola?  Sounds bad.  Hope she's on the mend.

    What: 5 km this morning
Why: opportunity when I dropped Lucas at nursery
Last hard: that was tough, I'm aching all over
    Lyrics: yup

Went to physio yesterday and she's worked a lot on my lower back, glutes as I've got really bad coccyx pain which is possibly caused by losing weight quickly after pregnancy combined with general pregnancy messing me up!  Needless to say the areas she worked on are tender today.

Sorry, was AWOL again, Lucas poorly again, though well enough to go to nursery.

Have a lovely wet day all

    morning all

Emzap, poor lucas!! and you x
LMH hope lola gets on ok
What: over 5 miles run and 1 mile walked
    why: car wouldn't start!
    Last hard that was
    last rest: 31/12/16

Highest mileage September achieved! by one mile :-)

  • You are doing great with the mileage Wabo.

Sorry to hear that Lucas has been ill again emzap and that you are a bit beaten up. Hope you feel better for it once the initial aches ease. Lola chased a rabbit through a barbed wire fence/prickly hedge.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Oh no lmh. That's not a good idea! Hope the damage wasn't too bad. How are you at the moment?

Wabo well done. Hope the car gets fixed soon.
  • Hiya
Ale - what did the legs decide??
LMH - hope the vet visit is successful
Emz - well toughed out on the run, the physio pain will be worth it...
Wabo - well done on the mileage, not so much on the car!

What - just over 7 easy trails
    why - recovery
    last rest - 31/08
last hard - yesterday, legs still battered
    lyric - think so

Youngest has a case of covid in her block at Uni, being tested today...
  • Lyrics Yes!!
Complete change in the weather here, v windy and wet, just the thing for an overnight sailing!
Getting packed up, 7 mile blustery run.
Chick - that sounds rather efficient, wouldn't happen here!
Hoping to do a few wee runs while away though I don't know the area and Peter still out of action but the main aim is to enjoy the wedding and stay out of Covid trouble. Also to see our pal in Kirkcaldy on the way home though it will have to be in his garden or a short walk.
    Enjoy your running folks!
  • Safe travels and I hope that you have a lovely time away and that the wedding is memorable for all the right reasons.

Hope it's negative though there does seem to be a bit of inevitability about it with those students living in halls. There's just no way they are all going to social distance/stay in their bubbles as required.

emzap - big hole in her chest (three staples) and a 'scrape' most of the length of her left front paw that the vet wasn't able to close but seemed to be healing ok until Thursday when we had a scary incident with an unstoppable bleed that resulted in a pressure bandage and a couple of hours in the vets followed by another visit on the Saturday as there was obviously something wrong, new type of dressing applied and all seems ok so far. We were due at the vets at 1500hrs but they have had an emergency so it's 1745hrs and hope they aren't too far behind now. I'm still lame.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Oh my goodness. You two are not having much luck. Speedy healing vibes!

Yes, universities are definitely going to be a hotbed...
  • Afternoon! And a decidedly wet one at that!

Hope all goes well, Els/OH. I had assumed that the wedding was on Orkney! Where are you heading?

What: just over half an hour of easy running (easy according to the pace, but not easy according to my legs)

Why: legs decided that after an hour's gym work yesterday after the hour plus run that half an hour in the rain was enough today. I agreed with their decision.

Difficult to know what to think about the Covid situation in your daughter's hall apart from it can't be easy starting uni at this time.

Hope Lola is ok after the vets' administrations, LMH!

  • Poor Luke, em

When is the wedding date, Els? Yeah, our health system is not too bad but we do pay quite a lot of contributions so it's just as well that you get specialists when you need them :)

I'd be scared to go near a uni at the mo... hope your youngest is OK, Dustin

Very good on your mileage, wabo. Not so good on your car. Did you get it fixed?

Hope you're home from the vets now, LMH. Is Lola better?

No injection today - they have fixed sessions at the hospital as these are done with under a high-resolution MRI device. They are going to squeeze me in on Monday evening though - last day my neurosurgeon is around before going on holiday. I hope that one injection is going to fix things. Last time I needed two but it's less severe this time around so fingers crossed.

  • Evening!

Hope the injection does the trick, Chick!

Well done on the September miles, Wabo! Just ahead here with 221k, a little over 137 miles. Not quite as high as August but I did 8 short speed sessions which affect things. 30 days run, no races or parkruns.

    evening all
els and OH I hope the wedding is lovely, sure it will be
The car will probably start tomorrow, let you know.  But it is in need of a service for sure so I  better get that sorted.
Bad news, I was treating OH to a weekend in North Wales, Llangollen.  Cancelled now due to new measures.  It was for his birthday so back to the drawing board I think.
    Chick fingers crossed!
    Nice mileage Alehouse

  • Evening

Fingers crossed for good travel to the wedding Els and OH and that it is a lovely day.

    Hope Lola is okay LMH.

Get well soon Lucas and all the best for your back too emzap.

Great mileage for September Wabo.  That is a shame regarding OH's weekend away.  Boo to the car too, hope it starts tomorrow.

Hope your daughter is ok Dustin - must be difficult at uni at the moment.

Like the ongoing conversation between you and your legs Ale.  Nice mileage and 8 x speed sounds like good work done too.

Fingers crossed for the injection Chicksta.  Agree on German health system having been a patient in it for many years - the Swiss one is ridiculously expensive and much more restricted (as far as I have had to use it so far, due to costs I try not to!)

What: hike, around 10 miles, with OH + 8k recovery this evening
Why: making use of today's weather and finishing off 6 months of streaking
    Last rest: 30.03.

    Lyrics: vaguely familiar
