  • Morning,

Chamolk great to see you back I thought I posted yesterday looks like I composed half a post;-)
RFJ: Great race report and well done on executing a great plan with coaches help!

    What: just under 6 miles
    Why: Base training
    Last hard: still the fall
    Lyrics:Nope

Because I am waiting for it to get light and all schools are back I have to run circular route which is just under 6 miles.Lots more traffic on roads today even on the quiet roads!!I was glad to divert to track.

    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

Poppy, i know what you mean about running, I need to g o either very early or later due to schools traffic people and cars

    what: 5.6 miles later today
why: run the sum today is 9 k
    last hard: yesterday
    last rest: 31/12/16
    have a good day all
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Get your fruit soaking Wabo!

Everyone out enjoying their new found freedom Poppy?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Lazy morning for me.
Grey and no swimming pals around.
    Group 5k run this evening.
    Made a Madeira cake

LMH IF ONLY.  I am stuck at my desk and have been all morning, uploading receipts and photos for jewellery, I am sick of it
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Good job you had them all though Wabo and hopefully you'll only have to do it once and it will be worth the effort.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon

Hope emzap and RFJ have started their new jobs well.

Thanks for the report RFJ - will treat myself to that later.  Well done on MOTM on Fetch.

Don't get it either that you have to go to the office again Dustin.

Lazy morning sounds nice OH - though cake making isn't too lazy - treat yourself.

Will be interesting to see how things develop in Wales WP.

Paperwork sounds like hard work Wabo.  Maybe take a (running) break?

Fog lifted LMH?  Depressing stuff, makes it harder to get up in the mornings.

5k TT was rubbish again.  I over-psyched myself up and set off far too fast and died very quickly.  i.e. canned it at around 1k already.  Thought about a second attempt but got no further than thinking and jogged back.  Hmm.

    What: short recovery
Why: Monday, need to get some fresh air
    Last hard: yesterday
    Last rest: 30.03.

Lyrics: no but could agree with the sentiment at times.
  • Well the roads are crazy as we had to pop to get a few  supplies, plenty on shelf and no empty ones. Not much social distancing in shop although all had mask's. Will update as I have any for you:-)
    ALF: Always a little further

  • Afternoon!

    Lyrics: no

I have always found it very difficult to do a solo time trial, Hazel, and indeed find speed work on my own difficult at times, not least getting the pacing wrong, so I (and probably all of us) understand!

Roads are crazy here, too...but with road works...and not a single worker in sight. I now have 4 on my 25 minute journey to work. Came back a different way to avoid a couple...and found two more. Generally quiet though.

What: short and supposedly easy run after a morning's work

Why: lethargic. Intended to do more...

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • You tried Hazel - it's more that I'd do! Another grey day here I'm afraid.

I guess they have had plenty of time to fill the shelves Poppy :-)

Coincidentally I was considering a cherry madeira for my next bake OH. A shame none of your swimming chums were available.

Hopefully they'll get on with fixing things Alehouse. No point in pushing things if you aren't feeling great.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Congrats, RFJ 🎉 well deserved. Hope the new job suits you. OMG, I had no idea we were in that same race at Halstead in 2009 👏👏 I still have the t-shirt 😆 and I remember it was hot. I limped home in 4:01 because I very stupidly thought I could run two marathons at consecutive weekends. Bad mistake.

Really enjoyed the report and your pacing was awesome. It's a bit of a lumpy course too.

Hazel: a solo 5k time trial is a very hard thing to do. Where are parkruns when you need them? And ale is absolutely right: solo speedwork is a tough task. I prefer the treadmill for that but of course gyms are closed. Sigh.

Dull and grey here too, LMH.

Cleaned all windows today. Was considering a walk too but it's such a miserable cold November day that I took a bath instead ;)

i AM ALMOST DONE BUT HAD ENOUGH.
Going to run at 4.45, 9k today, meet oh on his way back from work and LIDL
chicksta cleaning all the windows deserves a lovely bath!!
alehouse hope you manage your run and enjoy
Poppy I can imagine the roads! Good that shelves are well stocked
    hazel enjoy the recovery run
rfj and emzap is started, hope new jobs are good!
RFJ indeed a worthy MOTM on Fetch
    What 9k soon
    why: playing games
    last hard all today
    last rest: 31/12/16

The worst of this jewellery thing is I keep crying....
Nothing I can do I know but it makes me so sad

possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • It's bound to make you sad Wabo. Hopefully a run will make you feel better.

I think I'd have wrapped up and gone out for the walk chicksta!
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Hiya
good luck on your first days RFJ & Emz
wabo - yep a head clearing run will work wonders!
    what - 5.5 easy
    why - recovery
    last rest - 10/10
    last hard - yesterday
continuing the no social distancing theme, a group of 19, yes 19 guys doing an outdoor circuits class near Shadwell Basin. If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t have believed it...
  • I despair Dustin.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Just read your report RFJ: loved it, especially the ongoing mile for mile commentary.  What a big PB jump - straight from over 3:30 to sub 3:15.  Thanks for sharing!
