Saturday 13th February 2021 We all came out to Montreux

Morning!

Lyrics: We all came out to Montreux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline

Feeling a great deal better but will be taking it very easy today.

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Great that you're continuing to improve AH.
    Not motivated to go outside.
Spindrift over lane at back of our house!

Thought you would be swimming, OH! I had a vision of you emerging from the steam coming off that warm Orkney sea when I set the lyrics!

Enjoy your 5k, Wabo! Wonder how many months before there are 5ks on a Saturday morning?

Alehouse miss park runs so much

  • Good news Ale. Take it easy!

Hope you get everything done Wabo. Well done on the challenge yesterday.

Please send some of your sun Dustin, some cake in return?

I was out in thin tights and OMM overtrousers yesterday Chicksta - much better!

Take care in those conditions Els.

I initially read your bookshelf had vanished OH.

    Have a good weekend.

    What: 6-7 whatever miles
Why: v.cold and windy so no Saturday training today.
    Last rest: 30.03
  • Ah - yesterday's lyrics were Get well soon by Ariane Grande.

Today's no idea - Montreux is a nice place though.
  • Thanks for the sentiment of yesterday's lyrics, Hazel!

  • Glad things are improving Alehouse. Not a day for going far here. Snow drifting all over the roads.
A fun wee 7k run but wouldn't be going any further or any higher up in these winds and spindrift.
  • Afternoon!

Slow walk round the block after watching the cricket. About 600 metres. Was probably far enough. Furthest since the 3rd! Have been knocked for four! Not quite a six.

Recovery being helped by my football team winning. Hopefully Wabo's team will do everyone a favour and win as well!

  • Sounding positive, ale. Glad you're on the mend.

Hope your having is holding up, Els and OH. We had such horrid wind last weekend. It would cut you in half. Luckily we had very little snow with it.

Wabo: missing parkruns too :(  and the volunteering, friends, socialising associated with it.
Will we see them back this year I wonder?

Overtrousers seem like a good idea, Hazel.

    2 more days ... 🙏

    Hiya
Well done for getting out Ale, no over doing it.
I guess not the score you and Wabo were after...
    What - 20x1min effort, 45s easy + 2m w/u and another 2 c/d. Plus 5 1/2 mile walk with Mrs D this afternoon over the frozen fields.
Why - get my backside in gear and do something quicker
    last rest - 10/10
last hard - that was, but strangely enjoyable. Strava said -3c but felt like -11c....
    lyric - don't think so

  • More motivated to go outside after a couple of hours in a confined loftspace stuffing glass wool insulation. Was a wild 5k , weather-wise, but enjoyed it. Saw one solitary walker. Now getting wilder.

Take it easy ale but glad you got out for a bit

What: 16.5 km in total, 14 of which were another adventure race
Why: had to run to the start
Last hard: waiting the 45 min in town afterwards in -3 for hubby and Lucas to come and get me. Could have walked home faster but we needed to do shopping. I don't think I've ever been so cold. Whilst I was running my hair formed icicles
    Lyrics: nope

I also miss parkrun but I suppose for the best at the mo
    Dustin good efforts
I really struggled this afternoon after this morning, I think the shivering has knocked me more than the run. Winner how stiff I'll be in the morning...

    Have a lovely evening all
