'Every South Street' - Running the Streets of Dumfries

Hi Fellow Runners

Since the start of 2022, I have been attempting to run Every Street in Dumfries to promote my hometown and raise money for Dementia UK.

You may have read about the efforts of Rickey Gates, an ultra-runner from San Francisco, who came up with the concept of running 'Every Single Street' in 2018, and the community of runners attempting similar feats in towns and cities around the world.

So far, I have completed 32 runs and a total distance of 186 miles (298km), but I still have some way to go!

If you like, you can read about my efforts in my blog ‘Every South Street’ at https://everysouthstreet.blogspot.com/

I have also set up a Just Giving Page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kevin-ward27

It would be great to hear from anyone out there who is considering running their local town or city, I can strongly recommend it!

Run Safe,
Kevin

Brilliant effort. I quite fancied doing the same for my home town of Paisley when I saw Michael Shanks doing it around Glasgow. https://everyglasgowstreet.com/
Sadly I don't have the techincal capability to actually map everything out so Ill just need to wait until Paisley is added to the City Strides routes. Well done and I look forward to monitoring your progress.
  • I think Every South Street is a running event that takes place in Dumfries, Scotland. The event is held annually and consists of a 10k and a 5k run through the streets of Dumfries and opens to runners of all abilities and is a great way to explore the city on foot. It features a post-race celebration with food, music, and prizes.
