Fri 17th June - young man, there's no need to feel down

Lyrics - young man, there's no need to feel down

Yesterday's were AM 180 by Grandaddy

Wabo - don't be stressing please. Obviously you know how it feels and the physio has actually seen you which counts for a lot more than me on a forum. We tend to use what's called the Ottawa ankle rules to decide if an x-ray is indicated - if you Google it you'll see which bits it refers to. My comment was based on you still being sore rather than not able to run - you're right that if sprained badly you wouldn't be able to run yet.

Nice pics Hazel

Enjoy the away day Chick

Ale - is it warm enough now to lose a few layers?

Els - is that a relief that your procedure will be put off, or now just longer to think about it?

I finish work in a few hours so planning a few hours sleep then out for a run, haven't decided what exactly yet. Probably a few easy miles as I'm thinking of racing the parkrun on Saturday

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Edit: just realised that I do know them. Sadly.

Wabo: I'm not surprised at all that you are not running yet; when you said ligaments I immediately said to myself that is going to be six weeks plus. Hope it is less. Very frustrating.

Chamolk: warm enough for shorts and one long sleeved top! Looking at tomorrow's forecast (today 29, tomorrow 15 and wet) I will be back to several layers.

Looks like a tough area for running, Hazel!

What: see what the legs feel like

Why: easy run before it gets too warm

    Photo: Salvador meets his grandfather...

I'll Google that chamolk thanks! I did contact my physio last night though and he said if I need page of mind then go for it. See how I get on today I'm out all day
Ale what a great picture!!! I think you're right about ligaments I keep trying to kid myself though
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Morning, lyrics yes!
Love the baby and grandad photo Ale! Do they live nearby, be good if you can see him often?
Wabo, hope things improve, concur with chamolk but we are very much advised against giving any opinion on social media!
Day 3 in covid house, a lot of coughing going on but I'm still clear! Because I was meant to be off work for procedure from today just doing daily testing and if Ok Mon can work but they're not planning me into rota until then. Going out for runs and essential shopping but no socialising.
Chamolk, although I was apprehensive it would have been good to get procedure over with. I'm always wary running the trails alone in case there is another bleed but advice is to live as normal! Was hoping for postponement til July but hey ho and if I do get it then a few week recovery is prob a good thing.
Baking bread, cheese scones and shortbread for shortcake stacks with strawberries and hoping for a run late morning. Rained heavily all night, no heatwave here!
    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning again!

Yes, Els, I think that I would have wanted the procedure done and out of the way. Hate waiting.
I think we get your weather tomorrow. Currently 22 but a pleasant breeze.
Salvador will be brought up about two miles away, in Cheadle.

    What: 7k d&d

    Why: enough. Hip flexors sore.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Jealous of your easy grandad access Ale! But it could have been worse, they could have stayed in New Zealand!

    Hiya
Ale - that is a stunning picture, you must be very happy they are so close
    Hazel - great pics
Wabo - trust what your physio says. Mind you, if he used to be at Spurs, did he say roll around on the floor for 5 minutes if someone lightly taps you?
Chick - enjoy the away day, drinks should go down well in this weather!
Els - pleased you're staying covid clear
Chamolk - hope you get a run in later

    What - a run
why - too good to be in all day
    last rest - 11/06
    last hard - Sunday

    lyric - obviously , yes.

Set to be another scorcher here, so leaving the run until 4-5pm
Train strikes next week so looks like it will be a 5 day wfh week.

  • Since I got in from my run less than an hour ago the wind has got up big style and all the washing blown off the line! Glad I went out when I did!
Going to do some work admin while I'm still in the clear!

    Evening

that does sound better Wabo. I hesitated a couple of days before mentioning that other guy, I was just concerned.

Good luck if you give parkrun a go tomorrow Chamolk.

Lovely pic Ale. Great you will be able to see him regularly. Region I was in would be good for running but too hot currently.

Nice baking Els. Hope you found all of your washing. Fingers crossed for you staying covid free.

Enjoy your run free day Pammie. What is left of it.

Ugh regarding the train strikes Dustin. Though maybe wfh is welcome?

What: more mtb trundling with a break for a wander around a moor lake
Why: second day of 2 day break, home now
Last hard: current heatwave. June records likely to be broken this weekend and break Wednesday at the earliest.
    Last rest: 17.06
