Does anyone know where to obtain the 1996 London Marathon Results. I ran it that year and it seemed as hot as this year, so it would be interesting to compare times.
I think back in those days the only way to get the times was to get the Times (excuse the pun) They used to print all the times as a daily supplement for the week after the event.
Thanks. However I have now tracked down at home copies of the results in the Times not only for 1996, but also for 1998, 1999 and 2001 (though not for 1986, 1988 or 1993) when I also ran.
So, if anyone would like to know their time, let me know - although, as it is a manual search, fairly narrow parameters are obviously required.
I noticed that too TickTock. I am hoping that as they have now clearly created a database of all the times that they will publish them on the website as they have for other big city marathons such as Berlin and New York. I know loads of people who don't have those records and would like to check them out.......
......as well as slightly obsessive geeky people like me!!
@Southdownsman Hi! In the very remote hope that you are still on here, I am looking for my dad's running times for the London Marathon. I think he ran in 1996, 1998 and 1999. He definitely ran 3 times, and around those years! I think in 1996 he ran in 3 hours and 30 seconds! Please get in touch if you can help and I'll provide more details. Thanks so much :-)

The results can be found here for previous years but only allows you to search for name and year rather than review all results:
