Hi,
I've been running on a fairly regular basis (injuries permitting) for a year or so and since getting hold of a secondhand race bike, quite fancied trying a couple of Duathlons. Can anyone recommend any suitable events for the novice (ideally Hampshire/South UK).
Cheers,
Rod

Meantime I'm keeping an eye on the events listings.....
BTW I've not done one either but fancy the challenge (Tri's are out - I can't swim).
Cheers for your reply.

I've already entered the Thruxton Mass Attack. Have you entered this event before? I was wondering what the standard was like.
Also, on a more practical note - do you run in your cycling shorts or cycle in running shorts or is there some type of lightweight padded shorts that I don't know about?
Cheers, Rod
You'll be cycling to the bars in Cyprus then I imagine...?
Funny you should say that. I've had the same advice from other runners. So far I've been practicing the Run/Bike. This weekend I'll try the Bike/Run - still not sure what the most appropriate kit is for these events -any suggestions?
Cheers

Im not so sure how to go about it... any advice?
Hope this helps
Andrew - the Surrey slog sounds ideal, I will investigate further.
Best I do the following
(a) get out on the bike this year
(b) practice bike then running
(c) get some decent shorts
(d) panic !
Good luck
Cheers all,
Rod
