Is there any one out there that would like to have a very last minute entry into the Highland Cross. I am having to pull out on doctors orders, The event is on Saturday 19 June. If you knw this event it is a 20 mile walk or run through Glen Affric followed by a 30 mile cycle from Cannoch into Beauly. Teams consist of 3 people and at the moment VRF (my hubby) and Nessie make up the rest of the team. Entry is £20 plus you have to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship per person. Our team has done it now for the last 2 years. So if anyone fancies taking my place for this year as I hope to be fit enough to do it next year then please e-mail me asap. The team can enter with only 2 runners taking part as long as we raise the £300 but this would give someone a chance to do this event as it is an invitation event and not easy to get into.

pooooooooooo
Yep doctor won;t let me run even if I was feeling fit enough which I am not. He has put me back on the antibiotics and signed me off work for another two weeks. Says I can't risk the race as going through mud and rivers and over rough ground is not a good idea when trying to recover from cellulitis. Am gutted to say the least.
Anyone??
You'll be fine for the cycle - the first 10 miles are downhill, then it's flat for a good while, and there's only one significant hill that a lot of people push their bikes up (I've never had to do that yet, even last year when I'd only been out on my bike twice before the race......)
Go on, you know you want to.......
Hopefully someone else can take up the challenge and complete your team.
best of luck!
