Best of luck to all Bramley racers - who else is doing it? Also to anyone else racing, hope you get your dream times.

What: 8 miles incl 6*1/2 mile intervals with 2 mins jog recoveries. First time in history I managed the RW schedule speed targets. Or perhaps I've mismeasured the distance.
Why: Schedule, and it's good fun frightening old ladies walking their dogs by thundering up behind them breathing like a goods train.
    Last hard: Wed tempo run.
    Last rest: Mon.

Have a good weekend all.Look forward to your race reports.
  • Meant to say, it's good to see you back into your running Drew.
  • drewdrew ✭✭✭
Thanks Laura, didn't do the weight training session but managed my recovery run at 6:55 pace so seem to be getting back to my old self again.

Planned long run: Sunday 20 miles
  • Hello everybody.

What- easy 3 and a half miles off-road round the sculpture park and surrounding area.
    Last hard- yesterday

Legs felt heavy but enjoyed the run. Got my longest run on Sunday back from X country @ Skipton.
  • A right lazy day

    What - 3 miles easy
Why - should have been a rest day but the weather was so nice

    Last rest - Sat
    Last hard - Thurs

Toyed with the idea of an evening run but having pizza and wine instead!
  • Oh - race predictions for Wombwell 5 on Sunday:-

    Delighted - sub 28 mins
Pleased with sub 28-24 (last year's time)
    Not pleased with anything else

Don't run that many 5 milers so we'll leave it at that.
  • Evening all, hope running goes well this weekend for everyone.

    what : rest
    why : long run tomorrow
    Last Hard : Wednesday
    Last rest : last Saturday

  • I'm back at last. Probably should have given it another day, but this evening could restrain myself no longer.

    what: 1/3 mile warm-up, then 2 2/3 miles in a smidgeon under 18:00
why: cos I'm (just about) fit enough to manage it

    last session: 12 days ago
sessions missed: at least 7½ (the ½ being tonight, as normally on a Friday I would run harder & further)

Coughing a bit afterwards, but not out of control. Avg HR rather high at 158 - to be expected I suppose - as was the pedestrian pace of 6:45 per mile.
  • Late again.

Welcome back MikeS, take it easy now, you dont want to damage yourself.

Having been asked to provide some sickness cover work is getting in the way of training. However, got round it today by getting a lift in this morning and running home.

    What: 6+ miles
Why: gotta get the miles in
    Last hard: Tuesday speedwork
    Last east: Thurday, rest.

Took ages to get going, possibly cos I'm not used to sitting at a desk all day, but once I did I felt like I was flying along - until I had to stop to sqeeze past a vanette parked on the pavement blocking it completely - GRRRRRRR!
  • evening all, if there's anybody left ---

glad to hear you're back into it, Mike and Drew.

    what: 3x2M then 1x1M
why: new idea for a tempo type workout borrowed from I'm not sure where
    last rest: yesterday
    last hard day: Tuesday

not a good training week - work and stuff :-(

good luck to everyone racing this w/e.
