If so I don't think there are many, Herne Hill Harriers train at Tooting Bec track, which is on the common. I did hear a few months ago that a new club was starting up based around Clapham Common, there was a post about it on RW Forum, might be worth checking out. Otherwise it might mean a trip out to Wimbledon (Windmilers) or Croydon (Striders).
I bet after saying all this its the wrong Earlsfield!
We're also just launching a new club in Wandsworth Common which is fairly close so hopefully be able to offer training to beginner/fun runners in the Earlsfield/Southfield/Tooting and Clapham areas.
I don't live far from Earlsfield, and I run with Clapham Chasers who train at Battersea park mostly. I'm a slow plodder too, and definitely not the only one! It's easy enough for me to get there by bike, not sure how easy it would be. Anyway, its £20 for the year to join.
