Hi - I'm a Victoria Park Harrier so will be entering in this event.
I doubt that we'll be following the route that you mention above. The 'lap' is more likely to be from the club house (put E9 5EG into streetmap) around the loop at the north side of the park, then down the annex which goes down the middle of the park, then back up along the path which runs parallel to the Hertford Union Canal. The lap is about 2 miles according to my GPS.
For those who live around Victoria Park and are looking for people to train with, I'd highly recommend coming along to the club - the website is http://www.vphthac.org.uk/ - all abilities are very welcome.
10K is a challenge anytime for me who's only run one once before and I've had quite a long lay off due to ill health. but hey ho off I go, perhaps if I start now I'll finish on the 31st.
Hi All, A newby to this great website here and am looking for some advice, not another one! ;o)
I've completed a couple of 10k's before, most recently the Help a London Child one in Hyde Park last month with a time of 58 mins.
Since then I've only done a couple of practise runs, 30 mins or thereabouts so am wondering if I have had enough practise if I am to enter the Chest Hospital run?
I'm doing the windsor half marathon in september and am starting to worry about the distance already!
W14 58MINS flipping eck!!! I'll be lucky with 1hr 58mins. Don't forget though it could be very hot as it starts at 11.30. I think you'll be OK as I only run 30-45mins to. Enjoy the drinkie poos but as you say just drinks lots of water.
i was going to organise a cocktail night on 29th but couldn't face spending the day before the race hungover!!
i've only done one 10k before (last year's LCH race) and am really hoping to beat my time so please look out for me (no 40) and shout at me if i look like i'm slacking!! did it in 61:03 last time. reckon i could get under 59 - hopefully!
Yep. Peterjward2000 on there. Lots of you guys sponsored me to run the Brit 10k for Royal Marsden. Had to leave is getting a bit heavy over there at the moment. The e-mail I had from my electronic entry says 10am. Hopefully this will be clarified should I get anything in the post!
Travelling from the Bush for this one as well. Nice trip to Bethnal Green.

Help!
Most of my training runs are only 30 - 40 mins. If you get in a few more training runs before the 31st, you'll be fine.
:-)
Only problem is a major drink-up on Friday 29th so better get plenty of agua in before and afterwards to dilute the Guinness!
QPR fan by any chance? If so let us know and we'll go round together.

I think 11.30 start isn't too bad, will just have to run faster to beat the heat! (I wish)
Peter - Ahah! A fellow R? You from the rivals board?
Sezz - No cheating on the shandies! ;o))
