Congratulations to all of you, it looked supremely hard from where I was watching! I saw the last two groups go off from the start, then ran around to the stepping stones and thought it would be a good idea to climb the steps to the top to watch everyone. Daft idea!!
Forgot to say to you Rob, I thought your Trionium mag was a very good read
Well done to everyone. What a uplifting way to bring in the New Year. I wish you all the best of fortune in 2006 and look forward to seeing you all again next year (or maybe even sooner at the Midsummer Munro if I can pluck up the courage).
Good luck to anyone running in the 2006 London Marathon this race definitely got my training off to a good start.
Many thanks to Dr R. and also to the helpful man that sent me in the right direction after the group I was following took a slight detour!
What a brilliant race. I think my time was around 1:10 (forgot to stop my watch!). It was good to meet Tiger at the start. You'll have to run it next year........... if you're mad enough!
I'm now back home and about to have a lovely roast dinner! Yum, I've earned it!
I am the proud owner of the Knacker Cracker '06 Wooden Spoon and it has pride of place. The dog thought it was a stick for him to chew so it is out of harm's way..
Thanks to all the marshalls who had to wait around in the cold for me - I do very much appreciate it, especially to those at the finish. It was great to meet loads of lovely people. Love the t-shirt and bumbag (I haven't eaten the carrot yet...). The soup and cheese and pickle roll at the finish was very welcome.
The drive back to Oxfordshire was smooth and without problem.
I could be tempted by the Midsummer Munro but again I'm going to be slow.
Not sure that Dr Robert will want me in the Midsummer Munro or back for next year's Knacker Cracker (it took me 2hrs and around 10mins) because I am so slow...
Hope to see you all next year (or in June if I manage it).
Well done all, if I had knackers they would be well and truely crackered! Brilliant organisation, many thanks to the marshalls, especially to the youngsters and their sweetie tub! Soup was really yummy, not eaten my carrot yet though!
Pretty slow time for me..1.43, but who cares I'm just pleased to get round, felt like throwing myself off the top at one point, glad I didn't!
Just wanted to add my thanks to the good doctor and his team. They done a great job on a morning which was pretty chilly at times when you're standing around waiting for slowies like me!!
Just waiting to see my result - nr 72 - can't access the excel file from amy ancient PC! I'd say 10k time doubled... Great fun tho' especially in knee high boots!!
Well done one and all, and also to creamcake. Wasn't planning to do the event but thought I would just spectate. But due to some persuasive women, I did the event.Brought a big smile when going up Box Hill I saw my fellow gym mates who'd also been out drinking the night before wouldn't believe I'd attempt a race with only 4 hours sleep. Thanks one and all. PS I've got a new laptop and I can't access the excel files. Can anyone suggest what I should do.
This really is the way to welcome in the New Year. The course is tough, especially the lovely steps at the end. However despite the aching legs today I still feel a a real sense of achievement for having completed the course. The organisation was fantastic and the support from the marshalls, spectators and other runners was superb. A great event-have not eaten the carrot but am wearing the T shirt continuously!
Ouch, what a way to start the new year. Great race!! Dr Robert?? More like Dr Frankenstein - that's one hell of a monster you've created!! Well done to all how ran (walked, climbed, crawled). A lot of pride in finishing this bad boy in one piece. Many thanks to the master of ceramonies and all the marshalls. Look forward to getting my medal, definately earned it. Only five months 'til the Munro....
Thanks for the feedback and nice votes on the RW rate-a-race: it's really appreciated.
Free Knacker Cracker race photos are now up on the web site ('Photos' page) - you can also access very good professional photos via the 'Photos' page on the web site.
BRM has sent through a couple of very interesting graphs with the results plotted out against age...fascinating stuff, also now on the results page of the race.

I can say that now with the central heating on and a full stomach!
Nice to catch up with some familiar faces.

Are you sure I had a smile on my face and not a grimace
Thanks again to the Dr for great organisation and for changing the course, was really glad not to have to go to the "touch me" tree this time :-)
Hello Tiger - sorry I missed you. It's been a very long time but hopefully see you somewhere soon.
