Its prob just the height of your bars FF - are they low down or something ? And the helmet you wear - some of them come quite far down the head and if you are low on the bars - you need to tip the head up more
Yup. I ended up with a right proper lump on the back of my neck. T'doc said it was from straining my neck back the way. Took the sun-visor bit off my helmet too, for the reason's Cougie says.
It doesn't take much - 2-3 inches can make all the difference.
It was a semi-serious post Nessie, honest. After a long ride on my bike I start to lose feeling in my left arm and have pins and needles in my little finger. The thought of it stops me going out on my bike as much as I'd like.
hmmmmm.....barseitis.........will have to get the old barse toughened up for the forthcoming tri season.............been riding my full boinger all winter which is plush compared to the road steed
I use a Terry butterfly tri gel saddle (Terry are a women’s cycling company who take the design of women’s cycling stuff very seriously!) and some women specific Assos shorts. It really makes a very big difference.
Cath - I wear tri shorts, not cycling shorts. Too much padding in cycling shorts and they irritate my bits terribly. I think unless you are very skinny (which I'm not) tri shorts have enough padding.
Also - yes, drink lots on the bike even if you're not thirsty.
have to agree with debbo - tri shorts are more comfortable over long rides for stopping barseitis as your bits are more "intimate" with the saddle, cutting out any unnecessary movement which happens in more padded shorts...............barseitis is more like a chafe than a numbness......

who said that?
Is there an echo in here??

Oooer, missus...............

I'm still worried about Gumps's observation about Cougie. I wonder if that's why he has to have his shorts made to measure...
ha ha ha
made me laugh! FB well observed! He's a little obtuse for me sometimes!
"after a long shag, i tend to lose feeling in me knob".

Defintely try the raised handlebars then - you might be pinching a nerve, which is never good.
(ignores posts about my pants)
