Awesome run

Hey there everyone,

Just a quick note as someone was asking if I was a runner in another thread (I'm one of the development team behind the site). The answer was a sort of yes/no. I'm more of a cyclist really, though over the last six months working on the site I developed a bit of a running bug.

Anyhow, the point of the story...

I got married on Saturday morning. But before the service in the morning I slipped out for an ultra early morning run. I live in Brixham, Devon, at home and hence did my favourite route. Up South Down Hill and over to Man Sands beach at the other side. It's an awesome trail run maybe a couple of kms down the other side to a beach you can only access by foot. There was nobody about at that time of day and the whole event reminded me of the Rave Run photos from the mag. If only there had been a photographer.

Does anyone on this forum know that route?

Anyway - awesome experience all told. Just added to a fantastic day by making me feel all the more alive for the wedding.

Jeremy

Congratulations, wonder if the missus wouldve seen the funny side if youd come up the aisle with a running injury

It has to be said - whilst running down the hill (which is pretty rocky) I was doing a quick assessment to ensure I would actually be able to hop back. I reckoned on a 50 minute run (up and down a hill) was a maximum distance of 25 minutes out. Which would have been an 1 1/2 hobble / hop. Some comfort in that thought.

She would, of course, have been hopping mad!

Congratulations on Saturday. What are you doing at work when you should be honeymooning. Sean obviously works you all too hard.

    Thanks Blue Knees, Pizza man,

I could kid you and tell you I'm logging on from honeymoon. However, the truth of the matter is far more benign. I'm having a church wedding in France (Mrs T's parent's retired there) in a couple of weeks time. You have to be legally married before a French church wedding. Hence the smaller civil wedding this weekend.

The honeymoon will follow the French wedding. However we are still walking around on a bit of a surreal cloud this week. Weirdest feeling.

Thanks Dustin, it's been a good week yes.

Congratulations on the wedding. It's my turn in three weeks time !

One of my favourite holiday runs is down in the Sth Hams from Torcross ( Start Bay ) to Start Point Lighthouse and back along the coast path ! Its a tough one but its brilliant.

    Thanks Shattered.

Hmm. I've never run (nor ridden) that section. That's a bit far from my home in Brixham. If you are ever back there another great route is Brixham to Dartmouth along a similar section of coastal path.
