It has to be malt loaf - chewy - takes longer to eat - contains dried fruit (full of vits) and is probably lower in fat than JCs? I was brought up on malt loaf. They also do plum & banana versions!
Malt loaf. No spread, just eaten in chunks torn straight out of the packet. Can eat a whole one between meals without ruining my appetite. Jaffa cakes are right down there with Wagon Wheels in the seventh cicle of food hell - nasty soggy/gritty pale stuff, sticky sweet stuff and bad quality chocolate.
My missus laughed when I bought Malt Loaf (was brought up on it), I had a slice, come home one day hungry lo and behold she'd scoffed the lot despite ridiculing it.
I think I must eat malt loaf in the strangest way... I cut it into chunks and put it in the freezer (because I buy in bulk) but because I love it so much I don't bother defrosting it, I just eat it straight out of the freezer!!! It makes is sooooo chewy and the raisins are nice and cold... yum yum yum!!!

I was on the forum last night and I opened a box of jaffa's 1/2 hour later, all gone.
JAFFA CAKES............
(Can we quit while we are ahead!)
And Gaz - 30 mins for a box ? C'mon mate it's called carbo loading, not nibbling.
10 minutes should be more than enough for your domestic box. 'Course your catering size could stretch to 30 mins at a push..
but Jaffas preferred!
almost as much as Fig Rolls! mmmm
